AMIR KHAN has been rushed to hospital after collapsing at his Bolton home with a mystery illness.
The WBA world light-welterweight champion is having extensive tests at the private Beaumont Hospital.
Khan, 23, told his family he did not feel well on Sunday night. Medics are checking to see if he has a viral infection.
The boxer took a holiday in Egypt following a successful defence of his world title against Paulie Malignaggi in New York in May.
After returning, he flew to South Africa via Dubai to watch the World Cup. But when he arrived home he started running a temperature while complaining of feeling drained.
A close family friend said: "Doctors think he may have been bitten by something on his travels. He's talking to visitors but is very weak."
