Now that final was more of an anti-climax than something that was a huge anti-climax. Like seeing a suspicious lump in a fit birds' panties in Thailand.
The Dutch should have been down to at least 9, or even 8 men if Webb had the guts. Spain should have lost Puyol, and Robben should have scored at least twice. All-round bad night's work and they should just hand the trophy over to Germany instead. The TV guys did their best, but it was downright bad.

Was just reading about the FIFA World Cup Awards there...
Diego Forlan was named player of the tournament. Fully deserved, what an incredible player! He is the kind of guy that you need leading your team on the big days. He is also one of the few players that seemed to master the Jabulani ball... while most ballooned it, Diego was in full control nearly every time he struck it. Legend.
Casillas was named goalkeeper of the World Cup, again, probably deserved.
Thomas Muller was named young player of the tournament and also picked up the golden ball for top scorer. 5 goals and 3 assists for the 20 year old. He is going to be something special in the future, serious talent and an ice cool head on his shoulders. Looking forward to seeing more of him!
Spain got the fair play award, which is bollocks. I don't care if they only picked up 8 yellow cards in 7 games, incessant theatrics and diving does not constitute fair play in my book!
Spain were the best team, although would have been a better final if it was against Brazil.
Holland were a disgrace and Howard Webb did well considering the players theatrics.
It was not a good advert for football, the 3rd and 4th place was much better.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
