Margarito and yet no Paul Williams?
Margarito deserves a shot at nobody. Maybe Cotto at 154 no CW, but I would have liked to have seen Cotto have another fight with Steward first.

All other issues aside, I think Margarito would be the most interesting fight. He's big, durable, and he throws a ton of punches. I think Pacquiao would beat him handily, but it would be an interesting fight.
I have zero desire to see a Cotto rematch. After the first four rounds the first fight was no longer competitive and Emmanuel Steward won't make any difference this time around.

Manny has to take on new comers, seasoned vets, and the best athletes.
I think Margarito would be the hardest match up for Pacquiao, because Marg's punches are hard, short and crisp. Margarito is TALL at 5'11". Paul Williams is 6'1" (probably a little taller.. they tend to play height down when you're a big guy in this sport at a lower weight)
Martinez is 5'10", but he has freakishly long arms. Plus, he's already stated he staying at MW. Really, he's right there with Y.Forman in reach height.
So my question is... Why was Yuri forman too tall at 5'10" and Marg is not at 5'11". Hate to say it, but obviously, Roach sees something in Marg that Pac could handle. Maybe it was the huge ass whooping Marg took from Sugar Shane? http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...milies/eek.gif
Cotto is a changed fighter after the beating he took from Marg. He is still gun shy. He used to sit on the canvas, get back up and commence the beatings. He never had the skill to fight and not get hit. And he really doesn't like getting hit anymore. Soon as he sets foot in the ring with a big puncher again, I'm pretty sure he'll crumble again. I wish him the best, and I rewatch his fights all the time, but it's time to hang them up.
Tim Bradley is the only real choice. He's in his prime, skilled as hell, and I don't think pac is going to shut him out like he most likely will with all the other guys.
Sorry, but JMM doesn't even get a head turn for me. He's on the decine, pac is leagues above him now. This fight has lost it's meaning after the two wars they waged years ago, now.
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."

No point in fighting Cotto again or Mosley.
I'd love to see him fight Bradley but that aint gonna happen (he gains nothing by doing so) - so I voted Margarito. I think Margarito is a very tricky fight for Manny as he's a big strong WW. Plus it'll be for the vacant WBC strap so adds the whole 8th title into the mix.

You mean like guys who actually want to fight ?I don't think Manny 'needs' Floyd.Let him stir and talk to walls. What's he going to do,squander the moment off his 2nd most impressive win and let it pass him by.Let him. It's just so damn tired now.
Styalistically I think a Mosley fight would be nice, can imagine the exchanges but puts Manny in the foot steps of Floyd here.Like it or not...Margarito is going to fight and can still be a factor, sell it as the villian.Bradley a huge battle, hitting peak but mainstream lacks. What about a Berto...freak show with Williams.

The more I think about it, the more I quite want to see the Paul WIlliams fight.
I think his height and natural ability would be very tricky for Manny to get past
....why no Devon Alexander![]()
Unfortunately 'retire and stop soiling this sport' is not on the list of options.

No it would be at 154

I would pick Margarito if the purse split will be 90 / 10 in Pacquiao's favor.
Otherwise, it's Cotto at 154 lbs.
Either will solidify Manny's legacy with a unprecedented title in 8 different divisions ... that is if he wins.

I don't think beating Margarito (or beating Cotto again) will do all that much for Pacquiao's legacy. Obviously it will do a little, but he's already accomplished so much and beaten so many great fighters that only a fight with Mayweather or another truly elite P4P fighter (like Paul Williams or a Sergio Martinez) will enhance it further.
No matter what, Pacquiao, unless his reputation is legitimately tarnished, will go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time.
