Bit dissapointed but if your looking at the positives he can feel his way more into the 147 division.
Then bring on Floyd-Cotto next year!!

Its not the big fight some of us hoped for but he has had some tough fights in the last 3 so hopefully he will get an easier fight this time. Never know this guy might cause problems but i'm sure the Hitman will prevail the winner with not too many problems.
Can't grudge him this one and I am looking forward to it. Should be very interesting to see what next year brings as well.
for a fighter who only wants to fight 6 more times and at twice a year.....this fight shouldnt even be any part of the equation....
disappointing matchup for this hatton fan Im afraid....

Also why the hell is it in December??
Thats seven months after his last fight? I think his lifestyle will catch up with him pretty quick if he keeps having these long breaks between fights, im suprised this isnt in Sept/Oct?
I think fighters like Hatton should have maybe 8 weeks off after a fight then back into it, but when he is having nearly double that, and also what he does to his body it cant be good.
This is his mandatory correct?

I doubt this is authentic information. Boxingtalk throw propaganda out all the time and I think this is some more of it, seeing as they are so pro Mayweather.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
I cant begrudge him finding someone a little easy at 147. This should show more of what Hatton will be like at 147. IF I remeber correctly he did not get to train properly for Collazo at 147. So hopefully knowing this far ahead of time he can properly train for a 147 fight.

Frustrating but if he wants to just fight 6 more times and call it a day, however he does it I am all for it. I would for once like to see a young guy walk away with some loot and his marbles.Originally Posted by miles

Who's Urkal the Kid from the TV show Family Matters!
I would love for Hatton to retire with his mental faculties intact. But at least fight the best on offer and retire at 30 like he says he will....Originally Posted by LuciferTheGreat
Otherwise admit that you are deviating from the path you told us you would follow....

Every fight can't be a superfight. Maybe this is just a time filler, waiting to see if Oscar fights PBF next year.Originally Posted by miles
