The whole of round 9 epitomises Eubank. He drops Collins hard! and then spends most of the round posing. He had some good power and brilliant head movement, I dont think he expecteda long fight though and may not have put enough work in training, either that or the weight was getting to him.

Something I dont remember from years ago is that second knockdown Eubank should have got in that round 9. Earlier in the fight Eubank stumbles on his ass backwards bu because a punch landed on his stomach, it was called a knockdown. near the end of the 9th, Eubank lands a nice stiff jab in Collins face and Collins drops to his knees and they call it a slip but when you watch, I reckon it did hurt Collins.

Eubank also drops Collins in the second but Collins manages to dupe the ref in to calling it a slip. He actually runs to the ref and wipes his gloves on the refs shirt and shouts "no knockdown" himself!! What a twat. Cant believe he got away with that!

If Eubank had all 3 of his knockdowns against Collins counted, looking at the scores he would have won a majority decision!!

I just watched that to see for myself, and it does appear in the 2nd round. That Chris Eubank drops Steve Collins with a right hand at the start of round 2.

Yeah I remember those knockdowns and I think the ref did mess up but he was clearly more biased towards Steve. No way was Chris getting a decision in Irlenad but the KD in the 10th was too clean for the ref to call it a slip. I bet if Steve called it no knockdown though the ref would have been in two minds. He was probably waiting to see how Steve reacted before making his decision.

Prime for prime Eubank was in a different league.

If the KD's were counted against Collins, R2 would've been 10-8 Eubank instead of 10-9 Collins and R10 would've been 10-7 Eubank instead of 10-8 Eubank. If the KD against Eubank wasn't counted, R8 would've been 10-9 Eubank instead of 10-8 Collins.

Despite all of that, I still have Eubank winning with the KD's scored/not scored as they were by the ref.

    Eubank- 1,3,4,6,10(10-8 ),11,12
    Collins- 2,5,7,8(10-8 ),9

    114-112 Eubank

I'm tempted to have R8 as 10-9 to Collins instead of 10-8 Collins, because Eubank rallied back hard and shook him, and the KD was actually balance. (If I did that, it's 115-112 Eubank..)

I think Eubanks said himself that for the second fight Collins won by being more awkward that he was.
