since when is St. Louis "notorious for drugs, gangs, and murder"? Almost everything I've heard about the city has been positive.

Whenever there's a young black boxer on the upcoming that seems to be all of their backstories. "I came up hard, boxing kept me out of prison, i came from a broken home" its usually always the same story over and over again.

I have no doubt that there are a lot of black people who have it really tough in St. Louis (like a lot of black people do throughout the States), but I just don't think of St. Louis as a place which is "notorious for drugs, gangs, and murder".
