koppas,
okay, you're right about margarito being a slow starter. and it's very likely he'll fall behind like he did against cotto. but, like cotto, pacquiao could get tired and discouraged that his punches wouldn't hurt margarito. then what? margarito may have alot of weaknesses but he also has alot of advantages as well. for one, he's fought at 154 while pacquiao has yet to. he has a big height and reach advantage. he's relatively fresh (one year suspension) and with a new trainer, he'll learn somethings about defense and how to better utilize his potential bothersome to pacquiao, jab.
we'll see, we can speculate all we want, which is great and fun, but until they do the actually fighting in the ring, anything can happen!
ono,
agree but, margarito is going to bring it unlike clottey didn't. clottey was only there to survive and still marked up pacquiao pretty bad. margarito has 4-5 times more activity than clottey.
and you're right, the only way margarito wins is by KO. in the clottey fight, pacquiao showed me he was very ordinary defensively and margarito could salivate this!
I agree Margarito is more dangerous, but like Koppas said, he'll also leave a bigger target for Pacquiao. I can definitely see the argument for Margarito being able to hurt and maybe even stop Pacquaio, but the smart money has to be on Pacquiao to either beat him or points or even stop him late on. If i had any, that's where i'd be putting my money anyway.![]()

ono,
you're right, conventional wisdom would favor pacquiao but in boxing you never know. i still think if margarito is right mentally and physically, he's got a hell of a chance. but right now pacquiao is the "it" fighter, momentum wise so we'll see. should be a great fight!
