Solid fight given the state of the division. Briggs hasn't earned his shot but he's still got a dangerous punch and hell who am I kidding I am going to enjoy watching Vitali destroy old pineapple head!

I haven't seen briggs' last three fights so I don't know he might be boxing with a renewed hunger like you say. Him and liakovich gave us a 12 round stinkfest with a ko ending, and then sultan beat him without to much trouble. Unless vitali becomes ancient over night, which he might be liable to do these days, he takes this without to much effort. You all are right though, worse fights to be made out there.
Briggs has 1 punch left these days and I doubt he can take what Vitali can dish out. Come fight night I think we'll see Vitali at 253 and Briggs at 260-ish....Briggs will come out, throw a couple hail mary type bombs and then Vitali will counter him effectively and finish him off.....Winner by KO in the 4th round "Dr. Iron Fist" Vitali Klitschko!!!!!
wait why is it Vitali fighting Briggs? Why is Vitali getting people that have some sort of chance at beating Wlad?
I'd much rather see Briggs fight Wlad, at least there some kind of intrigue in that fight.
The HW division is just such a mess these days. There are literally only one or two fights I actually give a fuck about seeing.
They wouldn't have done any better vs Wladimir, actually at this point in time I figure Wlad would have stopped Arreola sooner and he would have beaten Johnson to a pulp....you won't beat Wlad by trying to out jab him and since Wlad hooks off his jab so well I think he would have opened up Johnson's defense a bit better than Vitali did.
Arreola would have been totally dominated because he throws wide punches, doesn't use angles, and doesn't move his head....it would have been a typical Wladimir fight.
I would have rather seen Wlad fight Briggs but Wlad is fighting the newly svelt Sam Peter who is now his mandatory...that's more interesting to me, for now.
Be-fucking-have lyle.
Let's call it what it is. Vitali Klitscho taking on another fat american whos shot at glory was frigging years ago. And even at his peak he wasn't that good.
Yeah if briggs lands a lucky one and gets a KO haye etc maybe haye will regret not selling his soul to fit the klit.
but as it stands this is just another easy fight against a guy who hasn't even earned it.
Just because of shit like this makes me feel that it's ok for haye to fight audley.
Whats good for the goose.....
Because the Klitschko brothers have established themselves as the dominant heavyweights since Lennox Lewis retired. They've been willing to fight all comes and have actively sought out the best and most demanded opponents (including Haye) of what is admittedly a putrid division. They haven't run their mouths about breathing new life into the Heavyweight division and all that bullshit, nor have they talked shit about fighting certain individuals only to overtly duck them on two separate occasions . Haye has barely established himself as a legitimate heavyweight, but his talk has already been demonstrated to be utter bullshit and he has zero credibility. He ran his mouth in order to make himself money and is now taking the easiest route possible, which is fine I guess, but he's got zero credibility, his big mouth has been completely shut ever since Klitschko offered him an incredibly fair deal, and even most of his "fans" have begun turning against him.
The difference between the Klitschko's and Haye is, in a word, credibility.
Your allowed your opinion. i don't have to agree with it though.....
maybe they will fight all comers, but the standard of what they're both fighting at the moment I would discribe as piss poor at best.
By all accounts they tried to set up fights with at least three fighters other than Peter and Briggs, all of whom avoided them. Haye - because he is a no-credibility shit-talker who appears to only be in the game to make as much money as easily as possible; Povetkin - because his own trainer didn't think he had a chance; and Valuev - because he demanded too much money (or so I have read).
Who else should they have fought? Even Briggs and Peter are better than Audley Harrison.
