I haven't seen briggs' last three fights so I don't know he might be boxing with a renewed hunger like you say. Him and liakovich gave us a 12 round stinkfest with a ko ending, and then sultan beat him without to much trouble. Unless vitali becomes ancient over night, which he might be liable to do these days, he takes this without to much effort. You all are right though, worse fights to be made out there.

by renewed hunger i mean fighting more regular and pushing for the title shot. he is more hungry for the shot at klitschko than Haye.

They wouldn't have done any better vs Wladimir, actually at this point in time I figure Wlad would have stopped Arreola sooner and he would have beaten Johnson to a pulp....you won't beat Wlad by trying to out jab him and since Wlad hooks off his jab so well I think he would have opened up Johnson's defense a bit better than Vitali did.

Arreola would have been totally dominated because he throws wide punches, doesn't use angles, and doesn't move his head....it would have been a typical Wladimir fight.

I would have rather seen Wlad fight Briggs but Wlad is fighting the newly svelt Sam Peter who is now his mandatory...that's more interesting to me, for now.

Yes but the hyped suspect chin of wladimer always adds an element to make someone watch a fight regardless of how boring whether it's a false hope someone knocks him out or otherwise it can keep someone tuned for the entire fight.

With Vitali it's basically praying he gets old overnight and knowing he isn't going to be knocked out.

Arreola I would have favored more against Wladimer then Vitali because of that element, I don't think much of Arreola but if I was asked which brother he had any chance against I'd say Wladimer, same with Johnson. Because Vitali is going to 'outbox' most anyone so a decision is out of the question unless he gets instantly old. Against Wladimer it's about someone pushing him out of his shell and potentially reaching his chin and thus is a more exciting matchup in my opinion with guys like Johnson and Arreola.

But as far as Arreola goes if I wanted him to fight Wladimer now it would be only for selfish personal masochistic reasons. Reasons I don't have at this moment.

Sam Peter I think is going to get stopped by Wladimer either way, at least Briggs and Wladimer have a history with each other.

Oh come off it fellas Shannon Briggs doesn't deserve a shot vs anyone, he's absolute garbage. I mean except for giving Lennox Lewis trouble for 1 and half rounds what did he ever do ?

He got a gift off a 47 year old George Foreman, an absolute robbery infact. He was KO'ed vs Darrol Wilson, got a gift draw vs Francois Botha. Totally outboxed by Jameel McCline and beaten by a 9-9 Sedrick Fields.

But i suppose beating a 44 year old washed up Ray Mercer, or scoring a miracle come from behind KO against Liakhovich in one of the worst Heavyweight title fights ever, gives him an automatic pass to fight the brothers ?

Jesus you know the Heavyweight division is bad, when an asthmatic 10 punch a round fringe 90's contender Shannon Briggs is getting world title shot good lord.
