It seems obvious to me he wants as much or more attention than Pac even when he's not fighting. And he's getting it. But I think it's ultimately backfiring as he's painting himself into a corner now.

The world simply won't allow him to not fight Manny now. It will berate and belittle him to the point he has no choice. There was a time not long ago when Floyd could have retired without Pac and probably still be talked of quite highly, though some would forever bring up his refusal to engage Pac.

I think that window has all but disappeared now. In fact I think Floyd may be battling some restless nights of his own now. Can I beat him? Can I? Mind you I'm not implying Floyd is scared, only Floyd knows that. What I mean is I have my doubts as to whether Floyd is quite as confident of a win in the darkness of the nights as he is on television and on the web.

There's a nasty truth lurking under all this, one that I have no prescience to foretell but that I think most, even the Mayweather fans (of which I am, at least his capabilities) are loathe to confess.

He can't win.

Sure he MIGHT win, much the way Atlantis MIGHT rise
from it's depths one day. Or the way Sarah Palin MIGHT be the next president of this country.

But he can't really.

And I think he's finally having to choke that down as this
inevitable clash looms ever closer.

Ricky took Floyd 10. Oscar damn near won a split decision. Shane about cold-cocked him in 2. Take no credit from Floyd, he is a tactical phenom.

But Manny. Oh my look at this upstart of late. Let the fandom and bluster fall aside and think this one through. What in god's name is Floyd going to do against the Manny of 2010?

It will be a blue eyed miracle if Floyd makes it to the last bell to lose his 0 via decision.

You wanted attention Floyd? You got it. And now I foresee no way to dodge the Phillipino hurricane without it haunting your legacy and your soul straight into the next life.
How is this about Mayweather-Pacquiao? Even Mosley thinks Floyd just needed time off, he did it before, and I think he wants to rest again. Time and time again Floyd has proven he is not afraid to face anyone in the ring. Manny is no exception. If you can't see the glaring flaws in Manny's style that Floyd will exploit at will then you are blind. I'll give you a few just as a favor.

Manny can't fight on the inside, he throws combinations, changes angles constantly, but when have you seen Manny engage inside? He covers up, waits for his opponent to finish then strikes back. If guys didn't punch themselves out and use a more measured attack they would be fine.
Furthermore Manny has been fighting guys who don't move their feet well lately which comes with being that much bigger and slower, but look at Manny against smaller quicker guys even Barrera and Marquez II, he didn't look the same at all, and its not because he has evolved as much as they had more comparable footspeed. Put Floyd in there and Manny won't be able to throw those devastating combinations. Roach saying Floyd's footwork is gone, but Marquez was able to time and catch Pacquiao on the outside, but he never even came close against Floyd. Mosley has exceptional speed, and except for one time where he came in differently from how Manny does, he wasn't able to close the gap quick enough. The point is Manny is off balance unless he has a guy who acts like a punching bag. Mayweather stays in balance more than anyone I've seen in the history of boxing. This means everytime Manny is out of position he will be tagged.

I guess you'll have to see it, if it happens now that all this bullshit is happening. If Mayweather is put in jail he definitely deserves it. Only a tool would hit a woman, and we all know this isn't the first time he has done it. Either way Floyd is going to beat Manny if the fight happens for the same reason he beat everyone else. His skill level is just that much higher.
