Also looking at the timeline Ibeabuchi fought from 1994-1999 and he's currently 37-38 years old. In 1999 Wladimir Klitschko was 24 (22 KO)-1 and weighed in circa 225-235. The issue is Wlad was fighting bums at that point in time and just getting used to being a pro having turned pro in 1996.

If we're talking "prime vs prime" then I see no reason to believe why Wlad would lose to Ibeabuchi. Ike wouldn't out muscle him the way he did Byrd, and he sure as fuck wouldn't be in close like he was vs David 'T-Rex Arms' Tua....like everyone else, Wlad would have him at the end of the jab. Sure Ike would pressure but getting blasted with power punches, being tied up, and then trying to cut off the ring only to eat more punches and get tied up again would be a new experience for Ike and I doubt he'd take it well.

I don't think so. I actually give him a better chance with Vitali then Wlad. I think Wlads poise and jab would frustrate the hell out of Ike. Its hard to even rate him off what we saw really,so quick but obviously he had mental lapses.

He was a big puncher (to a fashion) and had a good chin and workrate BUT he was relatively untested and he did take a lot of punches against Tua who is not much of a combo puncher and just moves in and throws one or two big hooks. He actually was a pretty good combination puncher, and he had pretty good defensive skills. That being said I think he also has a better chance than any of the guys out there except maybe Haye who could close the gap much quicker.

Also workrate doesn't help, not that you are saying it would, against the Klitschko's style. Especially when you are being pummeled by a cross-like jab and the guy has good movement to get away afterwards.

i trained with Ike at bmi gym in ft worth. he could have beaten the best. he was ranked number 4 in the world and was climbing up the latter fast. ring magazine stated he was the only true heavyweight champion prospect left in the world about 4 years ago.

Also did you see him spit the dummy at all? You know like any sign of what was to come?

Ike was a scary mofo, anyone who claims to hear demons is scary in my book. He should be up for parole any day now, unless he has gotten into trouble in prison. He was denied parole in 2008 for who knows what.

I sparred with Ike on several occasions. My dad, Pete ,worked with him on days that Curtis Cokes wasn't able to make it from Dallas. The thing about Ike was that he didn't spar much before a fight. He would take his fights, hot, like a race horse. When he stepped in the ring he was ready to fight and never had sparring syndrome.

I don't want to write much to the public about his history because there are those out there that would get hurt. However, I spent enough time with him to know his heart. I remember when all his problems started and the day they started. As time progressed they got worse and to this day has never been found guilty of the crime he is paying right now. i have lost contact with him and I know that he was supposed to be up for parole in 2007. He didn't get pardoned. There is a lot more to this story.

In my opinion he was a true champ and he would have been tested with the klitschko's. But, i think he would have beaten them. He had a nutritionist, he had no problems coming to the gym and he was faithful to his coach. he was very coachable. He was always positive about life. They made him out to be a mad man which is what the media and the public loves.

He was beginning to experience top rank fighters having fought tua and byrd. He broke the worlds record in the most punches ever thrown in any pro fight counted. It has been broken since then though. Byrd was taking advantage of him with his quick hands but Ike finally caught him and ended the fight.

I don't think that the klitschko's would have been able to handle him by the time they got on the scene. he would have been seasoned by then. Yesterday was his birthday and I don't think he is getting any younger. He would probably make a good coach!! lol

I'd say absolutely not. Ibeabuchi was a solid heavyweight but at some point would have been exposed. Probably the best of the talent pool of Nigerian born heavies but had no where near the athleticism or even boxing prowness as either Klitschko. Sure you can say well once Wlad get's hit on that chin. Ok what would happen if Wlad hit him first on the chin. Could Ike take a decent shot? Could he block Klitschko's accurate pinpoint punching? Even if he could knocked Wlad down could he keep him down? Ike is a decent boxer who went untested in the elite of the heavyweight division.

Corey Sanders was far from the technical genius. I think Ike could have definitely managed what he and Lamon brewster and Sam Peter (in the early rounds) pulled on Vlad. Vlad panics when he gets caught. Ike was built like a tank and when the clinching and holding started, Ike was strong enough to hold his own wrestling inside.

Vitali, i think would have gotten the better of Ike. Older brother has a better mental edge and can dig deep if he needs to. Ike didn't have the skills or reach to box Vitali like Lewis did and Vitali would throw to get someone off of him.
