I couldn't see Bute entering this, at least not at this point. For promotional reasons, ie $$$. His stock will be most served fighting who is the winner of this, and the match will be appealing because of the draw of fans from the winner, and his continually building base.
I'd like to see him in it, but it wouldn't make sense.
And yea, I agree with CFH's proposal. Ward deserves the bye.
This is all become a duct tape affair. I mean searching for a late sub...for a late sub in Green, who lost decisively. Just seems a little backwards.
Allan Green vs Sakio Bika Rumored For Quebec - Boxing News
According to several outlets in Canada, members of Sakio Bika's team are telling reporters that Bika has a good chance to enter Showtime's Super Six Boxing Classic against Allan Green. The outlets are reporting that Bika-Green could take place in Quebec. If that's true, there would have to be some extra money being exchanged because Green's Super Six contract calls for his next fight to take place in the United States.
After Mikkel Kessler withdrew from the Super Six with an eye injury, Showtime's initial plan was to drop Green, who didn't have any points, and push Arthur Abraham-Carl Froch and Andre Ward-Andre Dirrell into the semi-finals.
At some point, Showtime changed their course of direction and made a decision to let the third stage of the tournament play out, and to secure a replacement for Kessler.
Green and Bika were scheduled to fight earlier this year in a Super Six box-off. The winner was going to replace Jermain Taylor in the tournament. Showtime thought Bika-Green was a done deal - until Bika lashed out in the press about the money being offered and how he never signed a contract or accepted the fight. At the time, Showtime turned away from Bika and put Green in the tourney.
