Boxers that complies in your moronic brain then: - Pryor, Tyson, Ray Leonard, Hatton, Calzaghe, Vince Phillips, P Thomas, J Booth, many many more I can go on about all day.

There is a lot of pro boxers that take drugs, being in the gym 2-3 times a day, a lot use cocaine as there wind-down.

So when I here moronic, childish armchair fans complain about not being clean. It makes me think have you ever been a pro boxer, or a top athlete in any sport. It just makes me think that you don't understand the level of commitment to be at there level.

Personal habitants is what they choose, *personal*.

I'm sure Ricky would make you his huckleberry if you said it face to face, but hey what am I thinking. You're an internet expert

I'm no cokehead or anything but I highly doubt you would use it to "wind-down" as it is a stimulant. Ray Leonard said he used cocaine because he got a rush from it, a rush like fighting for the title infront of large groups of fans. If Ricky was to use pot or hash then yeah I may agree with you, it was to "wind-down".

I kind of wonder, and this may just be me here....but could Ricky suffer from a little Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from the Pacquiao fight? He's obviously trying to self medicate so something is wrong. My guess is either he's rich and bored or he's got some psychological damage from losing to Mayweather and especially Pacquiao...I think we'll all agree we've never seen Ricky in the ring like how he was vs Manny.

you forgot Arguello, Whitaker, and Tapia just to name a few more, all of them bigger names and more successful than Hatton and yet they felt the same burn from the fans, he's no victim stop trying to make him out to be one, he made a stupid mistake now he has to deal with the consequences

you have to remember that he fought in a time where not EVERY fight was put on PPV, but he had a HUGE following especially for his fight against Romero, and i meant it more on accomplishments, him and Ricky are about even

Tapia maybe just shades it in what he has done in his career with how long he defended his title, Like Ricky though lost the majority of his big fights, but in terms of who is the bigger name. I think Hatton is a much bigger name by far just for the fact he has fought two of the biggest fighters in the history of the sport who will probably go down as top 25 of all time.

I don't know about in England but in the states Tapia was HUGE because of his exploits in and out of the ring. So saying that Tapia was a bigger name is by no means a stretch. I remember the backstory of the Romero fight when it was rumored that they came up in rival gangs and also Tapia's hard living kept him in the headlines on a consistent basis. Both parents were murdered, cocaine addiction and numerous arrests.............nuff said, oh yeah he was a talented fighter in his day.

Yep, Tapia was huge in the states especially when he first fought Danny Romero and all the drama behind it. The fight was on regular HBO and not PPV probably because of the weight they fought at. In fact I can't really remember any fight below 130 that was on PPV. The only fights I can remember being on PPV at 130 or lower was Pac and his wars with Morales, Barrera, and Marquez.

Tapia was a better all round fighter than Hatton and in my eyes more accomplished.

Johnny Tapia deserved two wins over Paulie Ayala, the 1st fight was close but he deserved it. And in the rematch he totally outboxed Paulie Ayala and was robbed.

He beat good names like Danny Romero, Nana Kondau, and made 13 title defenses at Bantamweight. Aswell as winning world titles at 3 weightclasses, i'd say he edge's Ricky Hatton quite clearly.

It is very close not quite clearly at all, Tapia beat old man Madina to claim his third weight title, his defenses on a whole are on par with Calzaghe, Hatton was number one is his division much longer than Tapia, both lost there biggest fights, Hatton has a better win on his resume, like I said very close I would give the edge to Tapia.

Also people saying there was no ppv in his days at his weight Well that's my point Nothing you can do about the eras/circumstances the fact of the matter is Hatton is more well known in the world of boxing than Tapia FACT, no matter who thinks who is better that's just the way it is.

Yes Tapia is a well known fighter but not even close to being as known as Hatton, Hatton is a much bigger name.
