He showed that his stamina wasn't completely shot, but if he lost this then his career would have had nowhere to go. He knew that.
The only payday at 147 for Shane now is against Berto & at 154, it's only really Cotto. If he can't get either of those to make a good payday, I want him to call it a day. I felt the same watching both the Pac/Cotto & Floyd/Shane fights & that was of a superior fighter finishing his opponent's career. Granted Cotto may have beaten Foreman, but I think the first half-decent guy who is in there with him & he's getting stopped.

I think Shane probably could win a belt off Bundrage or one of the above, but he doesn't really need to & eventually he'll face someone who will badly hurt him. Leave it while you're still near the top
I don't think Mosley should stay at 154 either. The only fight that would interest me too is a fight with Cotto, which I think Mosley can win. A Berto fight at 147 would be good too, but otherwise Pac is busy and Mayweather already has a one sided beat down over him. At 39 Mosley is a warrior and brave to be wanting the elite, but age waits for noone, not even Mosley.

I would like a couple of well matched final fights and then to call it quits with his senses still half intact. But with fighters they always want that last shot at the top. At 40 it very rarely works out with any degree of success.

Talking of which compubox numbers apparently had connects at 161-93 in Mosley's favour, granted if that was a late-round flurry I'd understand, but from what I've seen said elsewhere that was consistent throughout the fight. I usually don't draw on them too much, because they tell the story of the fight, not the individual rounds scoring, but that's an awfully high differential

Fightnews has a poll up and most people seem to feel Mora won the fight.

Horrible fight......even worse decision. I'm more and more starting to understand the appeal of mma. Thank god football season is here. Boxing get's more and more less appealing as the days go by

After some quick searching and reading, this fight really reminds me of Froch - Dirrell in that people seem pretty divided over the outcome. Some people think Mora was robbed, some think Mosley edged it, but almost everyone agree it was a horrible fight.

Well look at the bright side guys. We have Marquez-Katsidis to look forward to, Khan-Maidana about a week after that, Pac-Margarito in early November, Lopez-Marquez also in early November, etc.

    So all is not lost.

It's not like anyone was expecting this to be FOTY anyway. Yeah, patchy fight with Mora spoiling for a lot of it. Lot's of good stuff on the horizon.

Disappointing fight and disapointing outcome. I thought Shane was chasing most of the fight and Nazim was lining up the excuses in the corner making sure the mic heard him say " I got you in shape Shane I know you can do better " but tactically wasnt giving Mosley great advice on how to cut off the ring against a runner.

Thats all Mora did really. He never once tried to stamp his authority on the fight. I was susrprised to hear the punchstats that Shane was outlanding Mora 2 to 1 cuz to me it looked like Shane was the more frustrated whilst Mora was happy to keep running. If they are true then Shane was clearly robbed. Not only did he outland Mora by a massive margin but he went forward for every minute of every round whilst Sergio backed off all night. In that aspect it was a robbery but for some reason commentary thought it was a landslide for Mora. Merchant thought Shane should have won so it depends what you like. Either way Shane should not have been fighting a middleweight. He has always taken the wrong fights at the wrong time at the wrong weight and for the wrong reasons. He has proven he is a warrior. Now its time to be smart.

I was going to watch the fight today but after sifting through 18 pages of the evenings RNR this was the final nail in the coffin. Froch - Dirrell was terrible and there's no way I'll be putting myself through this snore-fest. Happy to read how it went on here and even happier to skip this one now...

Seems like Shane Mora fight was dog shit, maybe Golden Boy will push for Alvarez v Shane? One last hurrah for Mosley at 147?

I think Berto beats him at this point. SPeaking of which, when the fuck is Berto getting back into the ring?
I still don't see that happening, whoever the matchmaker was for this fight needs firing because although he's not great Mora is terrible for Shane. Surely they had some face-first brawler they could give him?

I think Berto is back on the co-feature to the Marquez-Katsidis fight. Most likely fulfilling his mandatory against Selcuk Aydin
You are joking? You're saying Mosley still has it. Mosley had so many opportunities to put Mora away but as the saying goes "He can't pull the trigger anymore". It was reminiscent of watching his fight with Mayweather again. Firing flickering jabs in the air was just a a show. Even Mora was doing it. Mosley was sprinting accross the ring to get to Mora and just fell into his waiting arms. Berto would smash these guys at this point. I think the matchmaker did a perfect job with what he had to use.

Finally watched the fight. Close fight? No way. Shit fight, absolutely. For the first time maybe ever, I had my scorecard exactly the same as Harold Lederman, Mora only won 3 rounds and I don't see how anyone could give him anymore then 4. Joke of a performance and I don't think Shane looked that bad either, he just had someone trying to play spoiler by not fighting. 'Negative' doesn't come close to describing Mora in that fight.

I heard the fight only generated 100,000 ppv buy.

    Is this true?
