waiting for the full reviews to come out - I switched to FIFA last year after 8 years of PES. It may be that I switch back this year.........
Mattyhitman, is a big PES advocate, how is the gameplay different?
It's slower, and initially for you it will probably feel clumsy, but that's because PES takes into account individual players technique and players transfer of weight. After a while you'll become used to it, and you'll know which players react differently.

PES11 is very deep, so it depends on what you're looking for. Fifa is more instantly rewarding and is much more accessible imo. The problem for me with Fifa, is that there is little player individuality. Like there is a difference between Messi and John Terry, but it doesn't have the subtle differences between similar sort of players. PES11 does. The collision system in Fifa is also awful imo. It's almost Rugby like. It plays a good game, but fundamentally it's all over the place.

If you download the PES demo, you'll have to give 20 or so games. It'll definitely grow on you though. It just feels very different to Fifa. Imo, both good games in their own right, but for PES11 is much more simulation like, and that's what i'm looking for.

It's similar to the difference between NBA2k series, and EA's NBA Live imo.

FIFA is SHIT ! cannot believe EA Sports can produce such an unrealistic game

PES's new game is such an improvement on the last version it's scary ! As ono say's it's much deeper than you originally give it credit for, took me a good few games to understand the full meaning of how it plays ! One thing i would remove is the amount of tricks you can perform, and the linking together of said tricks, this is TOO much like FIFA for me. Granted only the skilled players can perform these tricks to the degree ya want, but all the same I think it's too much

Im one gamer that will NEVER buy into FIFA regardless what they do to it - Greg, my advice is DO NOT BUY IT !!

what console you all play on?

I'm part of xbox leagues here: www.360planet.co.uk for both FIFA and PES, real life master leagues including transfers etc. They are looking for new players, especially for PES. I think you lot would like it.

I defected to FIFA last year, but it didn't hold my attention for long enough.

I've played both demos and much prefer the PES one, its a lot more enjoyable to play and I find it more realistic then FIFA. The gameplay for FIFA doesn't seem to have improved as much as the previews make out, and from the demo I haven't noticed too much difference in the passing system that they've claimed to have totally revamped. I'll definitely be getting PES but I'm not really sold on FIFA this year

It's great to see so many PES die hards on here! I've been fighting a losing pro battle on other forums for ages now.

I hate to say it, but FIFA is the better all round game, I just hope PES can turn out to be deep and varied.

I'll be buying both. So add me on 360: ojames0 (letter o, then number 0)

I've already pre-ordered my copy of FIFA as I thought last year's was quality, and if you want some goals Greg I'll bring my A game online when it's released over here on Friday!

Back in the day I used to be a pro evo player, but after a couple of disappointing installments around 07-08 I've not really got back into it on that side, and having all the right teams etc is one of the most important features IMO.

    Bring it on!

PES series just hasn't seemed to develop all that much.. I was a massive PES fan but got Fifa10 last year and LOVED it.

    I'll D/L PES11 though... I have to give it a second chance.

i just rented it, don't know that there is enough improvement for me to justify buying it. At least not yet. I started on professional mode and was amazed at how it made the AI players on my team stopped functioning. For example, I'd play a through-ball and the AI would chase it until he was clearly past the defender and then stop in his tracks for no reason. I dropped the difficulty to semi-pro and it seemed to get rid of the player's allergies to the ball. I'm not sure if it was set up that way because I'm using an MLS team or what. I will eventually get FIFA 11 and I will be downloading the PES demo soon, although I need to get a new hard drive still

I'd say this FIFA is pretty realistic. Just started a career with my virtual pro and after 10 games Lee Cattermole's been sent off 3 times
