Now that really is silly talk.

Toney has never looked like being knocked out before and can take flush shots off of heavyweights. Wlad has been down more against Peter than Toney and it's not as though Toney wasn't being clubbed on the back of the head too.

Roy Jones Jr can't take a clean shot in more fights than not these days and we are suggesting he would do better against Wlad than Toney? No chance. First time Wlad lands big and Jones is in trouble. Toney always has his smarts, Jones never really had them.

Jones has never really proven he can hang at HW IMO, Toney even with a belly has always hung in there and at the start looked really promising.
The only way to beat Wlad is not to be hit off him. Roy was always the master of not being hit. Believe me now if Wlad hits Toney he is gone. Now I know Roy doesn't have the elusiveness he once did but HW's are slower and he might just make it interesting until he was caught up to (which is inevitable by the way). I'm under no illusion that Roy would beat Wlad, he is way way past it, BUT Toney would be a punching bag for Wlad and that is a fact. Roy would at least try and be elusive.
Jones in recent years has lost his legs. He spent half the fight doing nothing on the ropes against Hopkins. As soon as he starts doing that against Wlad then he is screwed. Jones doesn't have smarts, he just keeps his gloves up without throwing anything or even moving his upper body all that much. I see it as being a MUCH easier fight for Wlad. At least with Toney, you know he will be able to get through rounds and take a few punches on the way. It's not as if Wlad is all pressure and throwing a high volume of punches.

I have no idea why you think as soon as Wlad lands that Toney is in queer street. Toney can take a punch off of anyone. The man knows how to box and has all the fundamentals, he is just getting old and slower. Like you regarding Jones, I am under no illusions regarding Toney either. All logic points to him being pretty done, but I still think it would interesting to see Toney go out on his shield.

Toney has never taken a punch off anyone like Wlad. The biggest punchers he has faced are a way past his prime and no where near as heavy handed as he once was Rahman and Sam Peter. Neither hit anywhere near as hard as Klitschko. Believe me if Wlad lands clean on Toney, the big fat bastard WILL be out cold. The way to beat Wlad is to be faster than him and avoid his punches, whilst hitting him with big shots yourself. I don't see Toney being able to do any of that.

I suppose you got into this debate with Miles becasue Miles speculated that Toney still has the skills to cause some problems. Now as part of the JFAT alliance ( ) I have to admit that it is a bitter pill to swallow that he is now totally shot as a fighter (you can't get a boxing lesson off Sam Peter and not call yourself totally shot) but to insinuate that Roy Jones would have ANY chance of being elusive, when he hasn't taken a side step, or moved his upper-body in the past 3 years is a bit silly

I mean Roy Jones couldn't evade Danny Green for more than 3 minutes, what makes you think he could keep away from Wladimir Klitschko's jab (which would probably render Roy unconscious on its own) for more than 10 seconds

And please don't start talking about temple shots ... I cant't even bring myself to think of how Roy would react to the one of the deadliest right-hands in history

Yes you need speed to beat Wladimir, mostly to evade his shots but you also need to be able to separate heads from shoulders

if true the klitschkos are indeed just the jokes to end all jokes and wlad should be stripped of his belts for even attempting to make such a calamity of a fight

i can seriously make arguments for a parkinson ridden muhammad ali being a better opponent than toney, absolute ridiculous
    one dangerous horrible bloke
