Even a Toney in his 40's is a far more significant challenge than Audley bloody Harrison. Many would regard Haye/Toney as a fairly decent fight (though against a Toney obviously past his best). Most regard Haye/Harrison as a complete joke.

The deal with Toney is he's never been KO'd and Wlad could be the first to do so. Wlad would stop him, I have no doubt about that but Toney would give Wlad some rounds.

This topic isn't about haye and harrison (which is a joke). It doesn't need to be mentioned.

The topic is wlad fighting bums.

HF at this point it really doesn't matter who he fights because #1 Wlad is a proven Champion #2 His contenders run away from fighting him and earning a big time pay day (odd for pro boxing) and #3 Face the facts at this point what's the difference between Wlad fighting an established contender and a journeyman these days? Wlad is so dominant right now hell the ONLY competitive fight he could be in is vs Vitali.

Wlad has no choices meanwhile Chicken Little CHOSE Audley Harrison.

Besides your argument is shit anyway HF, you offer no solutions as to whom he should fight in December, its an optional defense and that's when he wants to fight.....your solution?

Lyle, it seems to me that the only fight for Wlad at this point is a fight with Solis. Why doesn't that happen?

Harrison and Haye arn't the topic of conversation so take it elsewhere.

Wlad is the topic and he is fighting bums. No more to be said.

OK let me state it simply for you...

At this stage in his career Wlad can make anyone look like a bum no matter their record so once again "it does not matter who he fights"

Oh fuck off. Well he should make someone like ademek or haye a decent offer without a rediculous amount of clauses in the contract then.

Your excuses for this guy are pure comical.

Thank god ! Toney shouldn't be santioned to sell waffle cones, let alone being allowed into a championship fight.

Solis is already scheduled for a fight in Germany pretty soon and I doubt Don King wants that fight for him right now.

Could Wlad not just defend his WBO title and leave the IBF one out of this fight? Old timers like Robinson used to fight regular and not have their titles on the line. Surely the only way they could strip him is if he lost to Toney, which is not going to happen in a million years and never would have either.

I want to see Toney out cold very badly, he's disgraced boxing numerous times with his unwillingness to train and his drugs cheating scandals to supposedly "representing" our sport in MMA and then turning up looking like a Black version of Butterbean. If Roy Jones could hit him the length of a boxing ring in his prime, just imagine what Wlads power would do to him now!!

    Exactly, why not?

It's only the IBF with issues and it's a fight some of us obviously want to see for different reasons. Though I don't think Toney's MMA performance suggests anything whatsoever about boxing. You are almost suggesting that he disgraced boxing, was that because you were one of the more hopeful that Toney could still score a KO? I stayed pretty quiet on the whole Toney MMA front because I was upset that he would do such a thing, but as a boxer, I have far fewer fears.

I must admit I thought he COULD land the KO blow IF he got up on his toes and moved around so as to avoid the obvious takedown. Thing is he annoyed me by standing there and waiting for it to happen but looking at the size of him going into the fight it was clear he wasn't going to get up on his toes and move around.

I didn't expect him to do it, in all honesty but I thought his approach left it impossible for him to do it! Frankie Edgar showed later on in the night how boxing footwork could be used in MMA and he's not even a boxer.
