Could Wlad not just defend his WBO title and leave the IBF one out of this fight? Old timers like Robinson used to fight regular and not have their titles on the line. Surely the only way they could strip him is if he lost to Toney, which is not going to happen in a million years and never would have either.

I want to see Toney out cold very badly, he's disgraced boxing numerous times with his unwillingness to train and his drugs cheating scandals to supposedly "representing" our sport in MMA and then turning up looking like a Black version of Butterbean. If Roy Jones could hit him the length of a boxing ring in his prime, just imagine what Wlads power would do to him now!!

    Exactly, why not?

It's only the IBF with issues and it's a fight some of us obviously want to see for different reasons. Though I don't think Toney's MMA performance suggests anything whatsoever about boxing. You are almost suggesting that he disgraced boxing, was that because you were one of the more hopeful that Toney could still score a KO? I stayed pretty quiet on the whole Toney MMA front because I was upset that he would do such a thing, but as a boxer, I have far fewer fears.

I must admit I thought he COULD land the KO blow IF he got up on his toes and moved around so as to avoid the obvious takedown. Thing is he annoyed me by standing there and waiting for it to happen but looking at the size of him going into the fight it was clear he wasn't going to get up on his toes and move around.

I didn't expect him to do it, in all honesty but I thought his approach left it impossible for him to do it! Frankie Edgar showed later on in the night how boxing footwork could be used in MMA and he's not even a boxer.
