I give Showtime credit for trying, and we did get some memorable fights out of it. (Be it for the right or wrong reasons).

Looking forward a simple 4 man tournament would have been the way to go, 2 rounds and done. An 8 man tourney would take too long as well IMO a tourney like this should be no longer than a year long for christ's sakes.

How would it? 8 man knock out event would be 7 fights, we would just of been waiting for the final coming round now instead we are still waiting for the third stage of the super 6 then the semis and the final.

Johnson/Green has been signed for November the 6th so Green is not threw to the semi-final. Showtime are saying Ward might fight someone outside the Super Six on the 26th November and then it will be basically a shoot out between Green and Johnson to make the semi's.

8 men would be 3 rounds, which as you said we are still waiting on the third round now. The first fights happened almost exactly a year ago already. My opinion is that a tournament should not take longer than a year. The winner gets an entry into the next tourney.................
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

We are talking about a 8 man knock event, well that is the general consensus on here meaning.

Round one four fight quater finals.
Round two two fight semi finals
    Round three the final.

Meaing this event we would be waiting for the winner in the next few weeks, that would of been ideal.

starting with 6 would be alright then the best loser would have another chance in the semis

funnily enough the semis would have been ward froch abraham and dirrell

although dirrell should really be band from boxing
