I don't know about you guys but I think Margarito is close to being a shot fighter, or at the very least semi-washed up.
Arum isn't going to risk Pac losing before the Mayweather fight takes place. Money still rules guys.

I think this is a 50-50 fight at this stage.Tony jabbed the hell out of Cotto in the 1st round but in attempting to back Manny his pressure will see him taking alot of leather off lateral and hand speed where Cotto backs straight and 'sits' along ropes. Pacquioa will have to fight one of the more boxer disciplined fights he's had in last 4 or 5 as Margarito's when getting effected he wont back and his uppercut can be huge on Manny.
bulldog,
you could very well be right. sometimes fans like me, will try to look at the positive side of a fighter who is perceived as going downhill but subconsciously, they may very well know the truth. hope you're wrong though.![]()
ESPN Boxing Analyst Say Margarito Is Pac’s Liveliest Underdog Foe
Time to dust off the old Tornado sig spicoli.
C'mon, put it on bro. It's all good.![]()
Scary thought for me is what if Marg do actually try to box semi defensive ala Clottey behind a good jab to set up his powershots. Tony with his physicality just needs polishing from a trainer like Garcia to make him more dangerous. This fight as it gets closer is probably the scariest fight for me. Take care bud.![]()

PSL,
why is he a scumbag and how is he doing a lousy job hyping the fight? i think he's hyping the fight perfectly by saying margarito is going to beat him. do you want him to say margarito is going to lose and that he has no chance?
or, are you just getting a little bit more worried?![]()
PSL,
yes i am. i've been a big margarito fan for many, many years and when i saw him walking up the ring before his fight against mosley, i knew he was weight drained and in trouble. for your info, a weight drained fighter cannot handle power punches very well and he showed he was dead that night. also, right before the fight, i read at a spanish speaking website that margarito had to lose alot of weight prior to the mosley fight (his own fault). this is by no means an excuse but it does show how margarito is so motivated and prepared for this fight. there will be no weight issue.
and come on dude, do you REALLY think oscar, hatton and clottey were more dangerous than margarito? seriously? the oscar that pacquiao fought would have been beaten by any decent fighter. this is not taking anything away from pacquiao because he did his job but come on, seriously, oscar was like a walking zombie that night. and ricky hatton? listen, i love ricky to death but mayweather ruined him or maybe he wasn't all that good to begin with. sure he was the lineal champ at jr. welter but he never fought maidana, alexander, ortiz, kotelnik or bradley. how can you call him the absolute champ at that division without fighting any of these guys? maybe, just maybe there is a reason why his management never put him in with these guys, do you think? one more thing, hatton's signature win was against an aging kostya tszyu. great win but in name recognition only. tszyu was but a shell of his former great self.
and please, i know you can't be serious about clottey can you? i mean, yes, pacquiao did his job but you know, i know and everybody knows clottey was only there to survive, collect the biggest paycheck of his career and brag to everyone that he didn't get KO'd by pacquiao.
let me ask you again, after reading my comments, do you REALLY think oscar, hatton and clottey were much more dangerous than margarito will be?
After reading your comments VERY carefully...
I have to say FUKKIN-A dlh, Hatton, Cotto, and Clottey were way more dangerous fight for Pac.
Lmfao! No matter how you sugarcoat Margarito... He's just nothin without his paris plasters. All he got is his size. But still... that doesn't neccesary mean a great advantage for him. I just look at him as SLOW and BIG target practice for Pac.
BTW. I'm not gonna even dignify by answering the second sentence comment that you wrote there. It's utter bullshit.

PSL,
you know, as the margarito/pacquiao fight inches closer and closer, i kind of sense a little bit of desperation on the part of pacman's fans. i kind of liken it to the democrats here in the U.S.. the closer the november 3rd elections get, the more desperate they appear, stumbling all over each other.
here's the difference between you and i concerning this big fight. i look at it as a realist. in that, never, ever dispel your opponent as something he's perceived. the sport of boxing is probably one of the most unpredictable sports there is because all it takes is one punch (or a couple), and in this case, margarito is going to throw an average of 100 punches per round. two, styles make fights. the forementioned fighters like oscar, hatton and clottey were just stationary fighters who DIDN'T come forward. margarito on the other hand, is a pressure fighter, with a great chin, with a 6 inch. reach advantage and a 4 inch height advantage. he's going to come after pacquiao from round one. the question is this, how is pacquiao going to react to this? also, everyone talks about the speed advantage pacquiao has. well, that's true but can you ever name me a past margarito opponent who didn't have a speed advantage? this isn't nothing new for margarito. he's used to being the slow guy but with his toughness and grit, he mostly always seems to wear the other fighters down. and since pacquiao is so small, don't you think margarito has a chance to wear him down?
look, the main difference between you and me on this fight is i'm looking at it like a true boxing fan but you're looking at it like a true nuthugger. i do not always believe what i read like fans like you.
peace!
