By refusing to attack and showing patience, you force your reluctant opponent to lead. This is where you pick him apart with straight punches. You might also feign surprise, play possum and retreat. This will make him come forward even more confidently, taking him out of his element. If you make boxing a game of POSITIONING, instead of a game of SPEED, you can hold the advantage.
    Good read.... Thanks

    Especially enjoyed that bit

Good read that dadi, this is very good advice and reading, maybe this should be in useful posts section i could have done with reading this when i was starting out and was so concerned with fighting on the "inside" like everyone was saying i needed to in the gym because "thats what good boxers do", turns out my style seems to be just like you mentioned just outside or mid range pressuring the leads from which to counter on. once i stopped trying to fight how people thought i should and how i felt i should everything seemd so much clearer. those were the days when i would purposely stand on the inside to fight a fight that just isnt me and wondering why i went home with a headache and no confidence while learning jack shit lol. and like you said a lot of people need that confidence to start learning and trying new things and this doesnt just apply to boxing, reps dadi for another useful post.

P.s i still watch the ezzard charles tribute you put up on youtube for motivation, great video you should do some more :P

Excellent read: you were forced to utilize both sides of an equation and then you took it to task. Disruption is overlooked by so many fighters who think past that distance and then the possibility. It is a mental attribute.
If someones a faster draw you can move in and hold their gun arm down or like you say smother them ,bump them, what ever it takes to disrupt them so their power or their second move is diffused by their own adjustment.

    I can explain it.
