Been a fan of Margaritos since watching him decapitate hyped Ankamah at the Pond but he was more then just accused...he was found guilty and suspended. Regardless of my personal preference & opinion that fact remains.

    spicoli,

okay, he was found guilty, suspended and did his time. now what, do you want him to not be able to fight ever again? and where is all the outrage on those steroid users? double standards towards margarito i say. the man, whether he knew his hands were loaded or not, has complied with the one year ban. i believe he has to be given a chance to make a living!

No has done his time thats fine I accept that, his fucking attitude towards the ban and the whole hand wraps is a disgrace, does this guy realise he got found guilty? He is on 24/7 having a laugh and a joke about the hand wraps as if it is specualtion or something that never got proved he is a fucking joke of a man, who should be thankful he has a second chane and a huge chance that will make him shit loads of cash.

Rightly or wrongly, I put using steroids somewhat below loaded gloves on the crime and punishment scale. You're more likely to maime or end the career of a fellow boxer with loaded gloves than by using steroids. Margarito got off lucky with the slap on the wrist he received, considering that Resto got banned for life after using loaded gloves against Collins many years ago. Not to mention the fact that Arum and most of Mexico winked at the suspension and Margarito was fighting in Mexico way before his year's ban wore off. Margacheato's a scumbag, pure and simple, and is lucky to be allowed to be fighting the world's p4p. BTW, I'm told Margacheato and his team made light of the loaded gloves situation on one of the 24/7 segments. I didn't see it myself, but if true... makes Margacheato even more of a scumbag than he already is.

    skel,

margarito has thanked pacquiao, bob arum and others for giving him this great opportunity. and why should he apologize if he feels he wasn't guilty in the first place? can YOU prove he has ever fought with loaded gloves in an actual fight?

would it make you feel better if he apologized to you? would you be a little less butt hurt? geesh, get over it. he's back and there is nothing you or anyone can do about it!

    titofan,

why couldn't margarito fight in mexico during his U.S. ban? that ban was only for the U.S.! margarito could have fought anywhere he wanted to! why is that such a problem for you?

again, luis resto was proven to have fought with loaded hands during a fight. it has never, ever been proven margarito ever did!

you don't think steroid users have a dangerously huge advantage over their opponents? so you are saying one evil is lesser than another?

Read my post again. I clearly stated that I feel a fighter with loaded gloves is more likely to maime or end the career of a fellow boxer than one that uses steroids. Strictly my opinion, but likely one that is shared by many boxing fans. They are BOTH offenses that should be punished, but fighting with bricks in your gloves is far more serious and deserves the harsher punishment. And why don't you address the classless way Margarito and his cohorts make light of the whole "loaded gloves issue"? Isn't that downright embarassing and shameful? Being a fan is one thing. Being a blind fan is quite another.

Yeah, he tried with Moseley and thanks to Nazeem Richardson, he got caught hand in the jar, it's like saying that a guy who try to shot somebody with a gun shouldn't be punished too much because somebody did stop him before he made the kill. Ludicrous.

Time done. Fully agree but he'll have that scarlet letter on em hence forth, his fans cannot slap it away and should he prevail vs Manny...I think its possible...It'll be the 1st thing highlighted by mass media and rightful congrats on 'win' will be back seated. Personally I see some inconsistency as Manny is now receiving more positive exposure...on "60 Minutes" tonight but think his in ring accomplishments and personality will over shadow any questions about foul play on his part. Maybe they'll ask tonight, who knows.

The one thing that has miffed me the most of him is NOT yelling in the loudest voice and proclaiming his accusers were full of shite!?

It's sad when a whole country rallies behind a convicted cheater.
