Post Paul Briggs fined $75,000 for his 'fall'

Which leaves him with $125,000 of his purse.

    Not bad for 29seconds work.

Cheating bastard. Should never be allowed to box again.

There was a discussion on here a few months back about this issue, and someone mentioned he had developed some neurological problems. What the f is up with danny green fighting some fighter that's been retired for 3 years anyways, shit like that shouldn't just be sanctioned so easily. Who knows tho may have been a real dive. However, it's hard for me to believe the guy would just so willingly lay down after seeing him in those 2 wars with adamek if he seriously didn't have something wrong upstairs.

Good argument to be fair. Just a shame the replays don't do him any justice as it barely touched him. You can probably hit yourself harder brushing your hair with a comb.

either way he should rightfully be fined, if he had some problem or wasn't right in the head he shouldn't have signed up for the fight, he let greed take over and signed the contract now he should suffer the consequences

Not bad at all for 29 seconds of work. With the fucked up global economy that's 1 hell of a payday. Still doesn't compare to the "fall" Bruce Seldon took against Tyson for 5 million.

Apparently Green knew about his problems too and knew what would probably happen. Supposed to be friends I guess. But so for Green to know about this from his friend and then that facade he did at the end of the fight saying Briggs had no guts etc makes Green the one without any.

No way should Briggs get a purse for that fight, shit, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a ring after that. What utter disrespect to the notion that two guys put it all on the line when they fight.

For me though, some shit has simply got to stick to Green too for this. Despite Green's passionate speech denouncing Briggs at the end of the short fight, he changed his stance very soon after. Somethin totally stunk that night, and some of the wiff was defo eminating from Green too. I won't be entertaining either fighter ever again.

Wonder how much this has harmed aussie boxing?!?!

I'm a big Danny Green fan, and also thought something fishy, but you gotta wonder. I mean Briggs must have some sort of brain left to walk, talk and think. If it was a dive, then you would at least do it with some sort of respectable punch. I have seen lots of knockouts caused by a glance blow. Anyway, I don't know Green personally, but do know some people that do, and they all say he is a real nice bloke and would never have done something like that.
    Just my 2 bobs worth.
