Because a lot of you "Chaps" get caught up in a fighter for no damn reason...I can see why Hatton was popular, I can see why Khan is getting some ink, I could even understand Calzaghe(bar him being compared to the likes of a prime Roy Jones Jr....blasphemy!) but there are some fighters who just stay at home feast on bums and crooked refs and you guys won't accept that they aren't quality fighters. I mean honestly if there was any other heavyweight title holder that chose to fight Audley Harrison would anyone accept it? Would people say "This is going to be the biggest heavyweight fight in England since Bruno-Lewis?"......no they wouldn't and why is that? Because Audley Harrison is a bum that's why, because he's already had his ass kicked by shit fighters before and upping the competition ain't gonna help him.

I'm all for supporting your fellow countrymen but there are some times when it crosses a line and just gets ridiculous and this is one of those cases.

We've got guys in the US who feast on bums and won't fight outside their comfort zone, but you don't see me bragging about how great Rocky Juarez or Juan Diaz are.

Lol I too am a Brit and hate Hatton, Calzaghe and Khan..(Although Khan has gone to the states early so kinda have to have a an incey wincey bit of respect for that). Fighters do get too much credit here..it's been like that for an eternity.

We have passionate fans here..But also promoters like Warren etc do a great job of making out that the "WORLD" of boxing is here in the U.K with farcical titles like the WBU and WBO. You'll be AMAZED at how many Hatton fans actually didn't know or give a shit who Mayweather was.."Just another opponent that Ricky will blast out" is what most of the general public actually thought.

I used to strongly dislike Haye too but he too took some steps out of his comfort zone to unify the cruiserweight titles..and has achieved a lot in his small amount of professional fights..But this fight was a joke, make no mistake. Klitschko's have to come next or Haye's noise will start to get boring.

But i also remember the build up the Lacy - Calzaghe fight. Plenty of people told me Lacy would win by KO (despite never seeing him fight), and this was mainly down to a few comparisons with Tyson in the English press.

Oh no doubt they did a great job building up Jeff Lacy who was greatly outclassed, I saw Lacy fight before the Calzaghe fight and he did look very durable, but the style match up didn't work and Lacy just couldn't handle Calzaghe's speed. I never said the American fighters were exempt from hype, obviously we've had our fair share, but never like England has every young contender from England is the next greatest fighter of all time.....you guys do have very supportive fans, but they can also be quite delusional as well.

This fight last night just boggles my mind, I've never seen such a farce in boxing, just God awful.
