Another question....Who in their right mind willingly takes 280 punches or 43% of the punches from Miguel Cotto thinking they will win?
....I think the answer is someone who knows they have an unfair advantage

And how many punches did he take against Pac and he still thought he was gonna win. Again I wouldnt be surprised if he did use them however his performance against Pacquiao just puts a dent in my mind that maybe he really didnt use them simply because he fought the same fight the only thing he added was a sorry jab but everything else was the same, if he knew he didnt have the advantage he probably would have tried something different.
The key is Self-discipline.
....or maybe Margarito is just a very limited fighter who was better because he cheated and without the added help of the plaster wraps he's 1 dimensional to the point where he can be broken down.
Notice vs Shane Mosley and vs Manny Pacquiao that the very same Antonio Margarito that threw 100's of punches a round vs everyone else (roughly 90 punches a round vs Cotto) only managed just under 54 a round vs Mosley and 68 a round vs Pacquiao....seems like Tony was less willing to trade vs these opponents for some odd reason![]()
Guy all of this is very simple..go to the file sharing board. Search for Margarito vs Cotto. Fast forward to the end and you'll see Margarito not only shake Cotto's hand WITH HIS WRAPS STILL ON, but also the ref Kenny Bayless grabs him by the hand to raise it victory. Then he gives the interview with the wraps in front of the camera in plain sight. Not to mention he WAS CLEARED OF USING ILLEGAL WRAPS DURING THE COTTO FIGHT.
Enough of your trying to make it seem as though he cheated against cotto that's why he won, because according to you he's always been a cheater. He already had 5 losses at that time. Was beaten by Williams just before that cotto fight. Why are you going to hard to make a case that he for sure cheated against Cotto and not the other guys?
Let it go man...he never officially cheated, because he was caught. And he whooped Cottos ass fair and square.

Just for comparison Luis Resto finally admitted he had plaster wraps vs Billy Collins and the NYSAC never confiscated the wraps only the tampered gloves and the case could easily be made that if the gloves had not been tampered with then Resto and Lewis could have gotten off scot free.
Well this is just amazing......almost as if they are they are the same thing and it's almost as if the Nevada State Athletic Commission tried to cover it's ass after all this hit the fan in California, but who am I to to judge? It's not like Compubox numbers and photographic evidence mean anything....now I'm no big city lawyer (adjusts suspenders) but I don't think handwraps are supposed to split like that or be discolored, surely now since so much time has passed and the NSAC has not done their due dilligence we are left with mere speculation but are we to believe what Javier Capetillo and Antonio Margarito have said? I mean look at Panama Lewis and Luis Resto...they stuck with their stories for a long time and Panama is STILL sticking to his story. On Very few occasions in sport do we the fans get the full truth and I think in this specific case we're missing out on a lot, so much that we cannot completely dismiss the idea that Margarito's wraps could have been loaded and simply missed by the NSAC which would be a shame, but it's plausible....very plausible given the evidence produced. Of course Margarito and Capetillo are going to deny ever using the wraps for anything other than the Mosley fight and only then by mistake because they are both trying to stay active in the sport, they are trying to save their bacon and are therefore unreliable as sources of information and the NSAC is just covering for itself out of fear of losing future big money fights.
