I actually think if all parties involved have 1 more meaningful fight (free of fight options) everything will be ok. And finally after that little bit on tv I can see some light at the end of the tunnel, just knowing Sauerland is involved says it all, pretty much absolves the WBA title holder for the fights he's had since the Valuev fight, I mean Ruiz was an "ok" fight he was still ranked although not dangerous, Harrison was what it was, and if he fights Chagaev....well I am just a smidge worried about that Ruslan is a hard nosed fighter, he's smart, and he's a southpaw, plus he can take a punch....HOWEVER should he dominate Chagaev or win a hard fought UD (without getting hurt) it builds the fight up a bit more.
Wlad will torch Chisora (show the Brits what he can do) and I think have a fight vs Adamek (on HBO more than likely) and then this megafight is all set up.
If I knew Sauerland had options, I would have understood the posturing a little more and wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it
Lol excuses excuses. It is what it is. They got taken off HBO cuz no one was watching. You in denile bastard. Are you telling me they never repeat the fight at a more conveinient time? Are you telling me that in America you don't have digital boxes that you can set to record a program to watch back later?
But you know something Lyle I'm glad I speak to you on here cuz then I can say 'i know the Klitschko fan'![]()
This is why I think everything should be public in these negotiations. We don't know the ins and outs of all the contracts and when certain things get cleared up like they did on thursday it makes things more tolerable.
I do think Haye should take on Chagaev (as is said in another post to kill 2 birds wth one stone), but I also think he would KO Chagaev with relative ease. Yes he can take a shot but I'm not sure he could take the punishment Ruiz did and I rate him about the same level as Ruiz. Haye for me is far too explosive for Chagaev.
#1. Facts from our very own Saddoboxing website: on HBO the Klitschko-Arreola fight had higher ratings than Margarito-Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz. And in Germany it got an unheard of 52% share.
#2. People want to watch LIVE fights and unless HBO has announcers based in Germany it's impractical to do have their guys cover the fight.
#3. Yes we have DVR, we even have HBO on Demand where we can watch any program at any point in time during the day, but usually we like watching boxing live.
I don't understand the Klitschko negotiating position on this one. They're always saying that Haye needs them more than they need Haye, as they're making millions fighting anyone on German TV, why would they now be unhappy with all the German TV take, not having to give any to the opposition? Once they're not the biggest draw/moneymaker, now they're demanding 50/50 split?
its a good idea to get rid of sauerland then make the wlad fight but would the british public go for another haye fight other than the brothers now, i mean i bet the ppv on a fight of haye chagaev wouldnt be that great, i think the haye harrison fight did alot of damamge general public wise.
First off Lyle come on man you think Haye wants 100% of the British PPV? No way near but he feels he is worth more than the 50/50, which in a way he is right he was the numbers to prove it Wlad will bring extra ppvs no doubt but not that much more than Haye v pretty much anyone else.
But after seeing that Interview I think Klits team are just as much to blame they can't have 50/50 then also not maximise more income by not fighting on the current TV Station, 50/50 all the way through is fine for me Wlad earns that with the fact he is the main man and is number 1 in the division.
After hearing about Sauerland being involved I think they are just delaying the fight until the options are over and that's a wise choice, after the next fight I believe we'll see this contract signed right quickly (hopefully Don King isn't involved)...I reckon they can't come out and admit that as their plan as no doubt Sauerland would bitch about not getting the most money out of it's investment, but to lay it on as thick as they have been, is irritating
Honesty is a trait not see in the boxing world.
It would be too easy for team Haye to say: "we're gonna ride the wave for three fights, then we'll be free of paying any money to a third party for the big one"
No wonder Valuev isn't in a rush to return, his pay days from the last two Haye fights have probably been like purses themselves!
