Had NO IDEA Martinez had been so disrespected

I don't usually care who gets paid what... or any of the other boring details, other than the fight itself. But I'm shocked to find out how disrespected Martinez was for his fight with Williams. For starters, he got paid about $1 million, a lot less than Williams did... and Martinez is the CHAMP. To add insult to injury, he also enters the ring first, a clear breach of etiquette considering the champ is supposed to enter the ring last. He also got dissed in other ways I can't remember right now, but read about.

Knowing all that, I'm GLAD he KTFO'ed Williams out. Nothing against Williams himself. I like the guy and I think he's a terrific fighter. But where the hell do the promoters get off treating Martinez like he's a second class citizen? I realize it's probably Martinez's promoter's fault for agreeing to such nonsense, but it burns my ass just the same. Just goes to show how crooked and shady the business of boxing sometimes is.

Hopefully they can't help but treat him like a champion now.

I got the fight recorded on my DVR, I just checked and no Sergio did not enter the ring first. Somebody lied to you man.

the fact that paul williams got 1.2M to martinez' 1M really isn't shocking at all because williams had already beaten martinez. the logic of martinez being disrespected because he was announced first or whatever is pure trivial at best. the important thing is that martinez won and now overnight, he's become a mega-star.
