lol...i knew the pactards would come on in droves like a bunch of ants. the facts are these, mayweather is a bigger PPV star than pacquiao, and you pactards can't seem to handle this fact. and to the pactard who said there were more fans at pacquiao/clottey than pacquiao/margarito. well, let's see here, if you combine the attendance/PPV numbers, pacquiao/margarito dwarfs pacquiao/clottey. simple math. so go ahead pactards, do your little huffing and puffing cause i wrote these comments. somebody has the tell the truth on these boards and it might as well be me because it seems everybody's on board as a pactardo.
generalbulldog,
look my son, if EVERYBODY on this forum agreed that pacquiao was the GOAT and thinks nobody can touch him, this forum would get pretty boring, don't you think? well, i'm sorry to burst your bubble but although i believe pacquiao has done great things in the ring, there are still many questions about him that need to be answered.
it's good to have opposing views. it's the democratic way in that people are different and might have different views than others. say what you will about bernard hopkins, but he's just saying the truth that pacquiao continues to avoid fast, young, in their prime fighters. it's not a coincidence that marquez took the anointed one to hell and back. it's not a coincidence that he's been asking for catchweights from bigger fighters!
my thing is this, if you want to play with fire, you'd better be prepared to play by the rules and not come in with some sort of advantage just because your smaller. pacquiao wanted these fights he should have played by the rules. if he couldn't do that, he should have stayed at a lower division.
the truth hurts doesn't it?
Pacquiao has been trying to make the fight with the slickest and fastest fighter out there for the past year, until negotiations broke down. It's convenient to forget this by his detractors.
And about catchweight fights who gives a shit about catchweight fights. People have a problem because it's Pacquiao. You sure as hell don't criticize De La Hoya and Chavez doing catchweight fights. I sure wonder why? Ain't that the truth homey.![]()
generalbulldog,
first of all, i did not know chavez and oscar fought at catchweights. had i known that, i would have disagreed with that and slammed them as well. and by the way, one catchweight is wrong but i guess can be understandable but when there is a pattern like pacquiao's insistance on catchweights, that's when it becomes total bullshit.
[QUOTE=generalbulldog;921534]
Catch weight fights are fine but when your fighting for the championship of a division there should be no catch weight, if you want to come in lower then the division allows that's fine but don't make the other guy do it also. Pacquiao is the only one I can think of who has fought for championships at catch weights, are there others who demanded lower weights for the title??
Not sure but from your post I do think De la Hoya did that to Hopkins ?? and of course Leonard for the LHW title, any others.??

You boys argue about the same shit over and over again. Here's some facts -
Floyd is an outstanding fighter. Fact.
Pac is an outstanding fighter. Fact.
Floyd sells shit loads PPV. Fact.
Pac sells shit loads PPV. Fact.
The end. Fact.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Honestly I don't think it matters much with the color of a person's skin or what not. It's the match up that makes the fight and causes the pay per view sales. I think if it hadn't been for Margarito's dubious past, this fight might have sold only 600,000 buys. Other than seeing a cheating villian beat up this fight really had zero relevance. A fight with Mosley and Pac has zero relevance as we know that Shane is washed up now. Other than a Bradley fight or a third match with JMM who seemed to be unlucky in many eyes to not win one or the other of the two fights they have had already, there really doesn't seem anyone around to truly interest people in a Pac fight to a large measure. Other than Mayweather who seems to just not be interested in a Pac fight.

What about coming in with some sort of advantage even when they're bigger? This is what Floyd did when he did not meet the weight in his fight with JMM. And I saw in another thread that you even mentioned that fight as one of the astounding achievements of Floyd.
Why did Floyd's name even get mentioned in here? I just want to make sure that you are not a hypocrite and that you did criticize Floyd for doing that. Did you?
The fight was a quality fight and was worth the money.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
neutral,
the reason why i mentioned floyd's win over marquez is in the easy manner in which he beat him. it was a work of art and that you cannot deny. do i think he's a scumbag by coming in overweight? sure i do. see there? i called him a scumbag like i call pacquiao a scumbag.
what i was most surprised in the way was how easily he beat marquez while pacquiao was lucky to get a gift decision over him.
