    Default Chris Byrd moving down

Chris Byrd and O'Neill Bell are in negotiations to fight at cruiserweight. I think this could bring a whole new dimension to Bryd. He has always fought bigger men on the run, and he could actually become an efficient aggressor.

I wanna see Roy Jones vs. Byrd.

Bryds missus has more chance of winning than Chris does.

David Haye would be a good match-up .

Byrd would humiliate Haye after the fight went 5 rounds, and there is no way Haye could stop him before he got dead tired imo.. Im fairly interested to see how Byrd does at Cruiser, I am expecting him to outbox Bell convincingly if that fight happens.

It's a good move by Byrd...none of the other heavy chumps will ever give him a fight so he might as well go down to cruiser and become the draw down there...

Great move by Chris! I would like to think that if had lost his heavy belt sooner he would of moved down faster. I think against the cruiser he would domiate a little more, he is used to taking a bigger mans punches so I dont think anybody has the power at cruiser to really hurt him. I look for him to do some good things at this weight.

RJJ became very vulnerable after he had become used to bigger guys punches. The same might happen to Byrd.

Byrd could rematch Calzaghe at a catch weight i.e. 185 pounds

Yes......I agree with whomever said "great move Chris"...........

but it would have been an even greater move 2 or three years ago when he started to look like dung in the heavies.

Chris Byrd could dominate this division if he moved down after beating McCline, but now he will probably have about 5 more wins and then retire.

That's more or less what I believe. I would still like to see him beat Bell.

the guy never should have been a heavy. He came out of the olympics as a middleweight right? We should have been talking about Byrd/RJJ fights for the past years. I don't particularly like Byrd, but I'll give him his props that he overachieved in the HW's. But the guy could possibly have been a three div champ at super middle, LHW and cruiser. I hope Byrd does well at cruiser but I'm worried it sjust too late for him. Cruiser is stacked right now with good talent.

i cant see him having another 5 world level fights tbh.after the loss to klit he probally wont be the same and even if he does go to crusier Bell sure does have some major ko power. But bryd is class so he might have 5 more left but at 35 he really isn't going to be as dominant!

I think thats great move on Chris part he should of move down long time ago. I think he can beat most CW there but don't forget he is now 35 and age is not on his side. Cruiserweight devision is weak also so IMO he can become champion in short time of period and just retire before age take over him.
