Great first day, we need to pick up with the bat where we left off and really put them under the cosh. If we can put 450 on the board their arseholes will be going.

Anyone know what Ponting was ranting about at the end?

Yep, really good day in the field. It's a decent batting surface, so the Aussies have messed up a bit there. If we can go in there with the right mindset and bat through the best part of two days the game could be ours. A bit of a big ask though, let's wait and see.

Now we're cooking....the neighbours must have thought we were killing the Christmas turkey for the first three overs last night, as each squawk got louder and more indistinct!

After the positive, but slightly dull, batfest of the first test, this has got my hopes up.

It did occur to me that the Aussies may have been given the wrong printing of the phrase, "If there's grass on the wicket, don't play cricket!"

Definitely looks like a batters wicket again at the second test, now KP has got into the three-figure action here! If we can bat out the day hopefully the wicket livens up tomorrow, and we can put some pressure on the Aussies.

286-7 needing three more wickets to win the second test! I am hopeful that we can get it done before the NFL now....it's just gone 286-8 as I write this post.

    Come on England!

I put the radio on, fell asleep about 5 mins before first ball and woke up just in time for the last wicket to fall.

Third test cant come quick enough. Cracking performance.

Now that England have won the second test, it's time for a shocking display against a regional team....

Looks like rain has saved, or at least delayed England's defeat in Victoria. Once a little bit of optimism and momentum is gained, it's frittered away once again.

Another participant in this thread. Welcome!

England looking grand. Australia have no chance. If we can bat one more session and put on another 60 runs or so, that would be grand.

This series has the same feel to it that England had when we won the rugby word cup in 2003, just inevitable that we would be better and come out on top. Roll on the day that I can say that about a football competition.

I just want us to be ruthless now, remove any opportunity they have (dont have much of one as it is) of winning. Bat out another session, put them another 100 behind and that'll be that.
