Hatton looked like crap after Floyd stopped him, he struggled against Lazcano and IMO didn't look all that stellar against Malignaggi, hell he was already starting to look like shit before he fought Floyd with weak performances against Collazo and Urango, either way i know Pac fans aren't trying to pull the whole "oh but Floyd fought him at 147, Pacquiao did at 140", well same thing can be thrown at Manny, Floyd beat a more capable DLH at 154 (not at 145, 147, or at 150) and Manny beat a shot weight drained version of the same fighter, again going back to my main point, seeing how bad Hatton has looked since losing to Floyd, and especially how easy he is to hit and counter now, IMO i think Marquez would have destroyed him just the same, Hatton's style plays perfectly for JMM, and yea sorry Julius Hatton right now is on the same level as Diaz and Katsidis, i see no way in hell he'd beat anyone of the top 3 at 140, i wouldn't be shocked if Maidana or Ortiz topped him at this point

Hatton is retired so the point is moot. I'm one of the few who is not a Pac or Floyd nuthugger. When Hatton fought Floyd at 147, Marquez was fighting at 130 against Rocky Jaurez. In fact, to this day, although he's had the chance, Marquez has not fought above 135 again after losing to Floyd.

I agree with you Hatton's performances against Collazo and Urango were weak too. I'm not sure he was any worse against Pacquiao than he was against Floyd. Floyd may have broke him, but he was there to be taken. He had looked like crap in his two forays above 140 and I think he was on the slide for a while. You can't balloon up in weight and party extensively between every fight and expect to be able to fight at the top level especially as you get older.

I resent that. I appreciate Pacquiao and I'm a fan of Pacquiao. I can be a fan and not be a nuthugger. In no way do I believe Pacquiao is above reproach. As a leader of the sport I enjoy, I want Pacquiao to fight the best challenges out there. Right now he is cleaning out the welterweight division. I can appreciate that to an extent, but I, for one, believe Shane is passed his best and there are better opponents out there for Pacquiao. As you have seen many times in other threads, I want Pacquiao to face Tim Bradley.

Check the thread about favorite current fighters and you can see mine.

    rant,

i was just kidding and it was all in jest! no harm intended. but, it does seem to me that to you, pacquiao can do no wrong. again, i'm not saying he isn't great because he definitely is, it's just that until he chooses to fight fighters in their prime like him, i'll continue to avoid the kool-aid so many of saddoboxing fans are addicted to!

Pacquiao can definitely do wrong. Unlike you, I'm just not hyper-critical of him. I'd prefer him to fight Bradley. I believe that he'll fight PBF, Marquez, Bradley, or Berto before the year is out and we can move beyond this discussion.
