Cortez got elbowed because Maidana was getting frustrated with the quick breaks. If your an inside fighter you definately dont want Cortez as the ref.

IMO the right guy won, Mares showed heart fighting for 11 rounds with a huge gash, and what impressed me most of all was he kept pushing the action

Mares was surprisingly the more aggressive fighter throughout and he took Vic's best punches (what a chin), Mares deserved the win and i think he will beat Agbeko. I would like to see him fight Vic again. I am now a Mares fan!
