Zab is a name, but clearly quite a bit past what he once was.
Yeah his output I would say is the main thing that will keep him out of this fight... 20 to 30 seconds of good offense during a round just isn't enough... If he had Roy Jones type power that could rock an opponent, then his style could be enough.... But he's lost so many fights because he can't put together a whole fight of concentration and activity... He has his peaks, which geezuz christ, those peaks were enough to get the better of Mayweather, but they are only small patches of a 12 round fight... Simply not enough..

But i'll enjoy this fight and really look forward to it...

You gotta admire a guy who's lost almost all of his big fights, but his name still has an air of appreciation about it... And he's still going strong getting decent fights, when most guys lose 1 or 2 big fights and they fade into obscurity or become irrelevant... No one would pick Judah against the top of any weight division, but at the Khan level I think he can even get another 2 or 3 good fights at least if he hasn't aged ridiculously...

    YESSSSS!!!!!

Now THIS is a fight I've really wanted to happen for some time.... These two guys will make such a great fight. For me, it's more about the match up of intangibles rather than the actual skills of each fighter that make this so intriguing for me.

Would be nice to see Judah back on HBO too

I've only just watched the Maidana fight. I don't think I have ever seen quicker hand speed than Khan! Also, I was majorly impresseed with his chin, he took some ferocious shots froma huge puncher! I still have my doubts about him though Zab is a dangerous fight for which Khan probably won't get much credit. i.e If he wins, people just say Judah was washed up and had lost 6 times before.

I don't think that should (or wish that it wouldn't) matter a great deal.
Judah is way more experienced at world level and has fought with better opposition level than Kotelnik, Maidana and Malignaggi. So it's still a step up in competition albeit slightly askew.

Also, progress is never completely lineal. Even in the most promising of prospects.
Progress that is staggered is still progress all the same.

(Is it crazy that I still regard Khan as a prospect )

Not really mate, check around the forums, there are many who still think Manny Pacquaio is unproven at the highest level.

    Ha! Really?

Well I don't know about that. I just feel that although Khan has won a title or two, his career is still on an ascension that precedes the assumed elite level.

    I dunno, he's still a kid

Interesting fight. Judah has the tools to stop anyone at 140 but he simply doesn't throw enough punches. Judah just postures too much and his jab is sh!t now. He's clearly a stepping stone and not a real contender anymore. Should be competitive for a couple rounds though until Khan stops him around 9 or 10. Khan seems very nervous in the ring though, anxiety's effect of his stamina will be his undoing once he steps up to the elite level.

i see this as an easy victory (points wise) for khan. i just think he's in his physical prime, and zab isn't what he used to be. khan UD12 117-111.

Just a week later and Khan is close to signing another fight? Doubt it!!! Zab is talking out his . . . ! And I'm a strong Zab supporter. But IMO, he's not all there anymore. Khan should be able to stop him. On the other hand, Khan is talking the talk. Wait until Bradley vs Alexander is done then look for a fight against the winner. Use these four week to get the webs out.

Well Zab Judah has been on the slide for quite sometime now, i didn't see his last fight. But i looked at the scores and it seems he was lucky to get nod, he was also floored in the 10th round in the fight.

Zab Judah is just a gatekeeper now, the only fighter he's beat in ages worth mentioning is Santa Cruz who is really a Lightweight.

It's a decent fight for Amir Khan, but don't make out this fight. Is anything other than just to further Amir Khan's name in USA.

Because Zab Judah isn't a top level fighter anymore, and i don't know why he's at Jr Welterweight to be honest. Because dropping weight isn't going to help matters.

But its a decent fight and it makes sense in someways. But i would rather Amir Khan revenge his loss, i'd give him more credit for doing that.

I think there are definitely easier opponents out there for Khan than Zab, but I do think Khan will have too much for him.

Unlike Ice I think junior welter is why Zab should be. The fights he was losing at welterweight were to bigger guys who just outstrenghted him, and he faded down the stretch.

Mayythyse was a big junior welter with a very strong physical presence and again Zab, after winning most of the early rounds faded.

It's hard to imagine Zab being able to fight hard for 12 rounds. I've always thought of him as being like Victor Ortiz (or rather Ortiz being like Judah) in that he wilts under pressure. Faced with a tough challenge he stops punching and imo looks for a way out.

Khan never does that and that will mean he's likely to finish stronger imo.

Judah's best shot will be inside the first 4-6 rounds, after that it's likely to be all Khan.

As Khan is a pretty fast starter himself it's going to be hard for Zab to make any impression on this fight imo.

He has to land something big and hurt Khan early, or else he's just getting another beating from a bigger, stronger, younger, hungrier guy.

    I think Khan wins late.
