    Default Boxing DVD selling advice

    Hey guys,

Just wanting a bit of advice from any of you dvd buyers/sellers. Some of you may remember I had a little website a couple of years back and was trading fight dvd's on eBay.

eBay cut down on that and I decided to stop advertising on the website. I have continued to sell privately with some of my customers from over four years ago on eBay. Now instead of trying to make up discs every fight weekend I've been working on producing a monthly (appox) package that includes a roundup of all of the major boxing. I'm trying to work to a standard, so it's 7 discs each set, all cased and boxed up with around 20 hours worth of fights. I cover every major fight, US, English and significant overseas fights, Mundine, Green, Hasegawa, Molitor etc so it's a pretty comprehensive package, and I feel offers far better value than most sets.

My customers are pleased with them too, and I'd like to put the word out about them a bit, but not sure where to advertise, or how.

Any of you guys have any ideas. I may well put together another website so I have a point of contact, but I probably won't have a checkout on there, as I'm a bit wary of doing anything too dodgy.

If anyone has any advice, then please advise me! Either here or pm is cool. Cheers guys.

And mods, don't even think about putting me in the spam board

I doubt there is anyone on here who would want to buy Andre, I think most of us are able to get to see all the fights they want anyway. But I would like to know some ideas about where to advertise and such.

I've been lucky enough in the past that when people have stuff from me they become regular buyers, but I've not publicised it at all since 2007 and I now I've switched to this new format I'd like to bash out a few more. Plus it's an awesome collection even if I say so myself. Works out at about £200 a year for over 200 hours worth of fights, all with printed discs, in nice cases with covers. It's top value. Risky to go on eBay again but I was thinking if there were any other sites where I could put a notice up. Also I might well put together a new website as well........

But thanks for your (complete lack of) help guys

Let me get this straight, you 'earn' the kind of dough only Preme and a few Hollywood A listers could dream of earning just for being a bit fucked up physically and you want us to help you increase your ill gotten gain?

I dont know why but last night for no particular reason I found myself wondering if you were still doing your knock off DVD's.

I guess that means Im a gayer.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I might get a monthly subscription if you decide to do the monthly sets as discussed, and you gotta ship to Australia...

I hook up to watch the real MAIN fights and download any that people say were really good, but otherwise I don't see anything else like guys in America who have a lot more opportunities to see boxing stuff televised.....

So could me in, and i'll let you know if I think of any good places to advertise.....

I do think it is a good idea though, having a monthly round up of all the note worthy fights, and as that as the selling point over just selling career sets or specific fights, facebook and forums etc might be a great place to start anyway.... Maybe just a simple website summing up what you have, but I agree not to have a checkout, just a contact name and maybe some feedback from people who buy from you (and possibly a contact for them if they allow it)... Even though that shit could be made up, it's the age of being wary of buying anything over the net, so you just gotta convince everyone outside this forum that you are a stand up guy...

Free advertizing is done on utube under videos of simular content in the comments sections, Its something you have to keep at though as the page fills in you come again.

Or even better make a sample vid and attach it to the utube vid under the heading.
