Whether or not he was "allowed to postpone until another date" is erroneous because he wasn't hurt he had financial troubles with the contract due to the collapse of Setanta.

The fact remains that he didn't withdraw entirely from the bout.

If people want to talk about the facts then they can talk about the facts... If you want to speculate then speculate.

I also lean toward the opinion that he wasn't going to get paid because Setanta when bust but I'll never say that as if it's more than speculation.

Unless you heard it from the horses mouth it's speculation, it might be pretty good speculation but it is still just speculation.

Also I think that irrelevant' or 'a moot point' would have been better words to use?

Spin it however you like, the guy didn't want to fight Wlad then. And he might not want to fight him now.

He never had the style to trouble Wlad.

Well he is slim enough to move around the ring, so straight away it poses more problems that 90% of the rest of the competition.

If Wlad can catch a prime Chris Byrd he won't have trouble finding the WBA title holder.

But act surprised when it happens

Byrd was also a southpaw counterpuncher with no power that waited on the shots coming and rarely lead.

Point noted but Byrd was one of the slickest heavyweights of recent memory ergo if you can catch him you shouldn't have an issue catching someone with little to no defensive prowess.

Lyle you will have to help get me back on the straight path mate. God knows I want to hate the Hayemaker but watching him sitting ringside for the Khan fight in his cowboy hat and then getting to his feet and cheering, I couldn't help but find him a tiny bit cool and almost liked him.

I beat those thoughts down but part of me is starting to become a fan in spite of myself
