Brook is mandatory for a world title. He beat Michael Jennings who is a former world title challenger. Since Alvarez is talking about fighting Matthew Hatton, I don't think Brook is an idiot calling him out. If Brook fought Hatton now, I'd expect Brook to win.

I doubt Alvarez even knows who Matthew Hatton is.

Alvarez would destroy him. Khan would end up, literally, killing him.

I expect Alvarez does know. Maybe someone shone a torch on Ricky's shadow or something. Canelo's team certainly do. They're discussing with Senchenko & Hatton as potential opponents for his first fight of 2011.
