Hopkins in truth is a big part of what is bad about boxing....He uses his position with promoters to gain fights he really does not deserve and when things don't go his way during fights he causes havoc with tantrums excuses then fouls the shit out of guys...

People credit him for still being active and fighting the guys he is at his age but Archie Moore did it til around then Foreman did it til around then and they either won or lost with dignity Hopkins just acts like trash and acts as if the whole world is against him.....At one time Hopkins was a great fighter who only hurt himself with the way he negotiated now he is just an outright joke...
45 years old Daxx. Come on. With no long pause of retirement and certainly not the string of grocery clerks and part time stunt men a Foreman faced early comeback. To be linked with a Foreman and Moore really ain't a bad when you look at it?

Fact is Hopkins has always been his own worst enemy with promotions and as stubborn as they come in early career. Think the problem is him actually being a business partner in promotions just as I hated it when Oscar was playing duel roles. None the less his mouth and tactics aside...the man fought a very savvy and top notch fight all things considered. People cant act as if Pascal was just a no-show and 'choose' to lay low and hold back. Hopkins very much had a say in the matter, broke him down and decided terms. Give the devil his due...he put on a superb fight.

Dont get me wrong jst the fact he is able to at his age is something special but my point really was that unless Hopkins is getting his way he acts disgraceful....Suck it up man this is boxing you have been a MW champion for 11 yrs abt and you held a LHW title, fought top names and beat them but now a days he just acts dispicable....He is a man who the more time goes by he loses moral in the sport....My thing and mentioning Foreman was that George did not cry and complain when he lost in his comeback....All he kept saying after the Pascal fight was abt his age OK we GET IT BERNARD!!!! but no he kept going on and on...Yet in fights where things are nbot going his way he uses antics during the fight that is reserved for 2 bit club fighters....At least he used to keep his stupidness for comments after, before or during negotiations.....And like y I brought up Moore....because Hopkins acts like he was the ONLY person to have ever been in big fights past his 40th....Did he forget those guys?...Then again Hopkins thinks all that matters is himself....In truth without GBP he would not be in these big fights........I just in truth do not like him anymore if you want to act like an ass then that is your issue but don't act like an ass crying abt spilled milk always....Hopkins has gotten some of his own breaks over the years judging wise but you never hear him talk about those.....

He is not the first to act this way and he will not be the last but he just happens to be one of the ones active at the moment.....

Bernard is the man inside and outside the ring. He preserves his self like a prison fighter. Lots of rest. No bad habits. Plenty of training. Im from the northeast and understand prison culture. Old guys in there love to school young guys on how to live there lives. expecially in the 80s and before that. Not to much now a day. They got all the time in the world to study how the human body works. 50 year old guys look like they 32. Because they have no choice but to get proper rest, proper diet, cant truly overeat, constant exercise, No drugs or alcohol, constantly studying there craft whether it be criminal activities or Boxing. He never lost the lessons he learned in prison. Simply championship living inside and outside the ring. He learned this is a 1 and a million chance and he relished everything about not losing it. Boxing is simply his identity and he knows that. Its saved his life and allowed him to prosper more then most people in this world and he took that seriously. I bet he I know what he is doing this very minute. Either jogging, training, sleeping or eating vegetables. Or talking about his lifestyle or life story for the 1 millionth time. I like the man. Very Very unique. And can fight his ass off. Who still fighting from the early 90s.

I had the oppurtunity to spend a few hours with B-Hop on the set of Friday Night Fights last year during a live broadcast. It was Brian Kenney, Myself , The Wife and Hopkins. The man is in great shape and seems to have a real good energy and vibe coming off him and he was pure class.... At close glance he just looks ageless, no lines or wrinkles with a lot of life in his eyes. He looks like he's in his 20's.

I just think he is dedicated and treats his body right and has a ton of self-belief, no doubt his defensive style has preserved him too
