Saw that four kings book over Crimbo, didnt pick it up, will do now it has the TKO seal of approval.

Off topic but Smash you must have read Marching Powder? If not Im told its brilliant, right up your alley

Bunces book is awfull.Had it for christmas.

Its interesting in parts but a lot of the time its total dogs poo!

The plot is thinner than Steve Bunces hair line and the characters are as beleivebly as Don King.

Hope Bunce sticks to factual books in future.

Dark Trade I JUST got off backorder after 8 weeks, can't wait to read it. Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a couple others. I just re-read The Killings of Stanley Ketchel which is excellent. Also very good is Sweet Thunder, Ray Robinson's biography. A Fighter's Heart isn't purely a boxing book but to any fight fan it is my most recommended read. The sequel is also very good.

Oh and I have Four Kings too by George Kimball and it is very good and widely available from what I've seen. Hands of Stone is another one that's at every bookstore you go to. Also Teddy Atlas' book is excellent, probably the most entertaining read of any mentioned so far!

Thats one i read a review of and is on the list mate!

To be honest i've got no interest in the Calzaghe books and similar ones... i tried reading Hattons book and may has well of used it as toilet paper...utter shite!

If it is solely about a fighter it's gotta be of someone with a mad story to tell..Duran, Lamotta etc.

Really want ones that expose the darker side of the fight game so theres a few been mentioned in this thread i'll be looking into.

    @ Memphis lol

To be honest mate i've been keeping my nose well clean of that stuff for most of the year.

Moved away from those circles (London Club Scene) now and feel so much better for it!!

Dark Trade is an excellent read man, I can definitely throw that in there. Others I'd back after a splendid read are:

WAR, BABY!! By Kevin Mitchell (Brill read about Benn vs McClellan)

ROPE BURNS By FX Toole (Great fiction read this one, really enjoyed, collection of four short stories if I remember correct, one used by the film Million Dollar Baby))

Nigel Benn's Autobiography is a great read,i'd recommend that one highly.Calzaghe's is good too but i really enjoyed Benn's after all he is me childhood boxing idol. There's a book a briefly read in me local library called"Tent Boxing"and its all about true facts on prizefighting in Australia.I only read a few pages and it was a really interesting read.

Yeah Mark TKO is bang on there Four Kings is a great read,i've only read a 1/4 of the book soo far after i've just started to read it after buying it ages ago.

Teddy Atlas' autobiography is a good read. As well as the Roberto Duran story. A book I wasn't to crazy about was the sweet science. With Sugar Ray punching Lamotta on the front cover. Something about it I read about a chapter than I just forget about it for a few months.

james j braddock when the bllody bloke drank a pint o' lunatic broth in north bergen, new jersey, hell, they named a frikkin park after the guy---he lived on Jeanette Street in Union City, New Jersey, when youre comin up the ramp on the 160, 161, 163 or 164 bus heading towards the Lincoln Tunnel for Manhattan, you'll see Jeanette Street on your right, lookin kinda bleak and depressing now, a good damn 100 years later nearly----the park is James J Braddock Park at Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen, NJ and starts at about 79th Street all the way up to 91st Street at the border of Fairview, New Jersey. Alot of Guatemalans livin up there now. Anyhow there's a book called "Nungesser's: the Jersey City Maulers" by some bleedin piece of horse dung named Punkmaster Puke, or some such drinkin a bunch of German Weissbiers and that.............
