I always thought that Bowe had all physical tools and skills to be an ATG HW. Clearly the guy just didn't have the spirit or durability to be a fighter....and he never saw twinkie he passed up.

Agreed he had all the talent in the world. Holyfield said he punched him consistently the hardest of any fighter he fought which says a lot.

Bowe was a good fighter. Had all the tools to be great. Just had 2 problems. The first is he had bad eating habits. The man loved food. The second is the he was never truly in love with the sport of boxing. I believe he did it because once he found out he was good enough, what other job could he do that would make him that much money. I dont blame him for that. Ali loved boxing. Hopkins love boxing. Thats their identity. Bowe did not. He aint the only one. Did good for somebody who only liked what he did.

Riddick Bowe was a great inside fighter, but his outside fighting skills wern't great which is weird. Because of his size it should be the opposite.

That right there completely covers the entire problem. The United States Amateur Boxing coaches did a lot of fighters a disservice by training them the way they did. And in the pros Bowe got very little help in his corner.
