Ortiz is much better match-up for Berto than Bailey. Berto won't look as good in the ring with someone that moves. Ortiz should look much better at 147. This is a good fight. I hope it happens.

That literraly could be said about every single fighter ever before they stepped up. He deserves his shot and should get it, he stepped aside once already. . You say who has he fought, well other than collazo and quintana who the hell has berto fought? Sorry urango at147 doesn't count. I mean who had martinez fought up till 2 years ago

what i mean though is who has Aykin fought to be ranked so highly, he hasn't even really fought B level fighters, so who's to say he deserves a shot at any title? it was Berto and i called his WBC title win a complete farce and still stand by it

Well morales you have a good point there but like ya said berto had done jack all to merit his shot, its their rankings and if berto wants to hang on to his trinket he should have to defend it against his mandatory...

Wins against Ouali, Bonsu and Dan are all decent wins (though the Dan fight was an out right robbery). He's done it the WBC way not the fans way. What has Ortiz done? Quit against Maidana, beat up some shot guys and a light weight, drew with Peterson and let Peterson off the hook rather than finish him

wins against guys like Maussa, Campbell, Harris, and what should have been a win over Peterson, are alot more than what Aykin has accomplished, also he's a bigger draw than Aykin especially in Vegas or California, as for the Maidana fight apart from the result lets not forget he gave him hell, and that's the same Maidana that had Khan out on his feet in the last few rounds of their fight

Maussa was never much cop other than his one puncher over Harris, Campbell was a Lightweight, Harris had lost 2 of his last 3 or something silly. All those fights were at 140, fighting at 140 won't get you a mandatory position at 147. Popularity shouldn't matter. If Ortiz wan't Berto either get himself into a mandatory position or offer it when a voluntary comes up.
