Damn happy the Jets rolled the Pats, Jets will be easier to play for my Steelers, Sanchez is good but definitely not on Brady's level and I fear more Brady or Manning (both are off, how great) magical trick than Sanchez capacities. Apparently, championship are won with a solid defense, if that's the case, it looks very well for the blue cols players from Pittsburgh.

I've always thought that the NFL would be better if it was more regional. I follow it but it doesn't evoke the kind of interest and emotion that the college game does. I posted this on another board I visit but it was full of Cowboy fans that bitched and cried. I know its not plausible at all but thoughts about this alignment

    NFC

    Jets
    Giants
    Pats
    Buffalo

    Carolina
    Titans
    Baltimore
    Washington

    Philly
    Pittsburgh
    Cinci
    Cleveland

    Miami
    Tampa
    Jacksonville
    Atlanta

    AFC

    Houston

    San Diego
    Oakland
    SF
    Seattle

    Detroit
    GB

I'm not really beholden to which conference the divisions are in just tried to break it down by time zones as best I could but you might actually make the money/tv work by mixing east and west time zone divisions.

I do this quote often myself. I like the Mascot breakdown.

Notice how the Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit and Green Bay divison stays the same.

Some of the divisions are admittedly a little bland but some of them would be HUGE in their respective areas. The jets/pats/buffs/giants and steelers/eagles/bengals/browns divisions would be big time in rivalries and story lines.

Looks like dropped catches are becoming a feature of the playoffs. Boldin and Housmanzadeh cost the Ravens against the Steelers and again last night, Branch dropped a pretty easy catch on 3rd down that would have given the Pats a 1st. Welker did drop that TD but it was lessened because they scored on the next play. Very surprised to see the Jets come out with the win, although I think the Steelers will be too much for them next week. They've got a lot of big game players and I don't think Sanchez has enough composure to see the Jets through such a big game. Although I did think both the Colts and Patriots would be too much for the Jets, so what do I know

I think thats an interesting idea with the divisions VictorCharlie, that would make for some huge divisons and it might generate more interest with the teams being closer together. Could really intensify some of the rivalries. The Jets, Pats, Giants and Bills and the Cowboys, Texans, Saints and Cardinals would be massive IMO.

The Cowboy fans on one of the other sites I frequent were in uproar over it. They are America's team and belong in the flagship division with their historic rivals blah blah blah. They felt that their division in my scenario was a bunch of 2nd rate teams that were beneath them. The whole episode just reinforced why I root against the Boys. Their self righteous sense of entitlement just rubs me the wrong way.

Its a good idea really, would cut down on traveling expenses, as well as teams getting jet lagged by travelling from coast to coast.

I had no problem with Manning losing. I do like the guy, just not against my Jets

Sanchez is gonna get sacked alot in this one and probably cough one up, add that to Brady who is on fire and it's gonna be a rough night for the Jets.
This was about how I felt about the Pats vs Jets game. I didn't think they were gonna beat the Colts or the Pats but look what happened. I feel the same way about Pacquiao. Even if I have confidence in those who I root for, I still give the opposition credit and know anything can happen in sports.

I actually think this game is going to come down to the wire again. I think the Jets will play exactly the same way they did the last two playoff games. They're going to drop more men into coverage and if the Steelers want the game, they're going to have to win it with the O-Line and Mendenhall. I think our pass rush will cause some problems because the Pitt O-Line is a little banged up.

The Jets are going to have WAY different looks on offense cause now Troy Polamalu is back. He is a GAME CHANGER! The Steelers are going to do the exact opposite that the Jets will and drop more in the box to stop the run and force Sanchez to beat them. I didn't think the Jets would win the last two and they did. I like their chances against the Steelers and that for some reason rubs me the wrong way. It should be a good one. This game is going to be decided on which defense gives their offense more time on the field.

FYI, I know it's easy to say this now but I never fell into the Falcons being the NFC's best team and definitely not a super bowl contender. They had a great regular season but their schedule was WEAK! They are solid, but they haven't done anything yet to convince me they're contenders just yet.

They need more wideouts. That's my opinion. Also, a TE who isn't near retirement.

Yeah they're not far from having a Super Bowl team, a strong young quarterback, an all star WR, a top 10 RB, an adequate defense. I totally agree a short yardage receiving threat would make them really dangerous.

The Packers are the 4th team to win 3 road games in the playoffs on the way to the Superbowl. 2 won it all (05 Steelers and 07 Giants) and the 85 Pats lost
