I have a really hard time dropping a man after I hurt him, sometimes I can rock a guy 5-6 times, but I only drop him on a flash knock down or KO. Any suggestions?

Not sure if this is the right thread to post in, but could someone quickly say what the best or some of the best boxing games on the PC are please?
I don't really game much at all, but could do with one to mess around on and don't have a console aside from an ancient N64 that probably doesn't work Cheers

Well I know that when a fighter is in a stunned state, they have considerably slower/ limited foot & head movement.
So in this situation, the only option available to your opponent is to cover up and/or grab hold, which is only really possible if the momentum is with them (i.e you are off balance from either a missed punch, leaning or ducking while in no position to punch, or just dog tired and can't react quick enough).
Apart from holding/ covering up, there is the option of bravely fighting back hoping the the stun state disappears soon enough.

For you, two things are important. Composure and POWER. You have to be more methodical in your aggression at this point than any imo.

First, you must always be aware of momentum.
By momentum, I mean keeping your self in perpetual motion with a simple view to avert being clinched. Sound's simple but the momentum part is the key.

Secondly, because your opponent will more than likely want to keep a tight guard you will have to 'get him on the go'. For me, that means breaking his guard down with jabs/ flared jabs/ straights and then unloading with POWER shots was their guard unravels.

If you have him 'on the go', the power shots get the job done.

Of course the desperate clinch comes out from time to time but the thing to remember is that as long as you don't concede momentum, their attempt to clinch will just be offset but you punching them in the face

Still the same lack of total punch controls we saw in round 4. Pressing the stick up down left and right or diagonally and holding a button to modify the power?

That is basically button controls, you do not have anything resembling total punch control any more... you're just using the analogue stick as a glorified set of buttons that you flick instead of pressing.

Dumbed the finesse and control of throwing combos and shots from different angles right down.

The stamina and punch ranges are supposed to add realism, but as is often the case with games like these... the more realistic you try to make them - the less realistic they seem.
