Yep - and many other elite fighters have never failed a test either. Does that mean they're using PEDs? Just because they perform well? If Montiel had won, would you have accused him of PED use? It's quite pointless, really.
You can point fingers at any boxer you like. In this era where drugs can be tailor made to beat the test, you should just go ahead and assume every fighter is on PEDs. That makes the most sense.

Victor Conte has now switched to the side of law enforcement, helping out on the detection/prevention and designing ways to combat these bad practices. Haha!
Donaire's choice of Conte as his strength and conditioning coach is radical to some degree, but likewise commendable in his giving the "sorrowful" a second chance... a redemption of some sort if you will.
Unfortunately, Donaire in doing so likewise can easily be an easy prey for the wagging and, misappropriated tongue!

In my view, Donaire did something truly beautiful saturday night, it blew me away for sure. I think we should start appreciating these guys for what they are. The speed and power truly mocks all. Obviously there's more to it than that, but it stands out above the crowd.
Guys like Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez and Donaire for me have the speed combined with power that the majority of people just can't stay in there with. This PED thing needs to be dropped unless guys test positive before or after fights. Simple as.
I actually thought Dirrell had the speed and power gifts to fall in the above category, if only he aplied himself better. If he wasn't such a chicken, David Haye could maybe drop into that category for me too.

I'm not going to give the opinion that Donaire is on something. But I'm also not going to say Bulldog is wrong for noting suspicion about suspicious hiring. Donaire brought in a guy in who is a known, proven, and convicted PED distributor. To make matters worse after Conte got out of prison he openly admitted and somewhat explained how he could beat today's testing and how dopers stay ahead of the testing. People have to stop being naive or sleeping on how relevant, readily available, and nearly rampant PEDs are in sports. Even amateur sports. Having said that...its jumping the gun to assume Donaire is on something illegal because of Conte. But its foolish to discredit the suspicion as to turn a blind eye.

I think Donaire has made a career mistake with Conte. For a smart man, I think Conte is kinda stupid.
What Conte has done is use a "smart ass way" for the body to produce EPO it wouldn't otherwise produce naturally. It's semantics. Those that are against the use of unnatural elements in the games will go after him to outlaw the tents, masks and the like.
Personally, I believe EPO's real power is the placebo effect. It doesn't give a fighter more skills, power, speed or punch resistance and the only time anyone can put up a tangible argument in a contests outcome, is if stamina is involved.
So the thing is when they take the blood sample, the profile will show unnatural levels of EPO in the blood which is a the red flag for further testing to look for synthetic drugs. however since the method of over producing the EPO was through tricking the boding, there is no synthetic EPO to find. Thus there is no PED's in Donaire's system.

I think he's doing the B-Side Meth.
I think he knows the risk being associated with Conte, and he know as well that his fellow filipino is being suspected of the A-Side. He knows these risks; he know too well that this issue is being talked alot at the moment, so if he's dirty it will come out before he even earn his first million.
But as he said, he's offering his arm for testing anytime. So, I guess his next opponent can request the test with no issues.
IMO, he's okay.

Nonito on PEDS. Not sure about that. I remember before a fight (I think it was before the Montiel fight) how he looked to the cameras and said something like “You can check my blood anytime, 365 days of the year, no problem, I am not afraid” while he slapped his arm. I was surprised how he is Filipino and still didn’t care to say that knowing how Pac and his team have been reluctant to take the tests.

Seriously g'bulldog... you sound like Mayweather Sr. version 2.0! LOL. Eat crow and pay your respect, it'll make you feel better!
Hope Montiel is OK. When someone retires, if that the case here, they need all their faculties intact for their loved ones.
how many of Conte's athletes have failed while they were still with him? When they left him they always failed..
The Fight Nerd | Victor Conte talks steroids in MMA & Boxing
