No bullshit grey. I didnt watch the fight, but i watched a clip with my brother when he brought it up to me, and i pointed out the exact same thing to him.

My exact sentiments were..Why would you wing a slow arm punch of a right hand like that? It was basically the equivalent of someone pawing a jab and getting knocked out with a straight right up the pike. He gave Donaire the wicked highlight knockout by throwing his right hand with questionable technique. By questionable i mean bad.

I try to move three times for every single punch that I through...

Once to set it up... whether that be moving into position or responding to a punch and setting up the counter, the second movement is the punch itself and then the third part I'm either looking at changing my angle for another punch or moving off and getting out.

    All depends on the situatuion.

I'd be lying if I said I did this every time/always picked the best option... but that is my intention.

The thing is, I've seen other fighter's throw that right successfully, with the same technique as Montiel.

I think it was Roy Jones

    ***Edit***

Roy Jones did it while the other guy was moving left, away from center. Roy would shoot the right hand almost as a send off.

It happened so fast. They both landed punches almost at the same time.

Montiel landed his right, but Donaire kinda rotated his turso and head away from it. Viewing the replay, Montiel indeed fail to move his head right away after he threw his right hand. Like Ted Atlas always say, "if you don't move your head, somebody will move it for ya".

Montiel could have at least bit his mouthpiece hard and tightened his neck. That would have help him.

Landed at almost the same time. Thats because Donaire picked up on the telegraph and timed a counter left hook when Montiels loop made contact.
