Lyle & El Terrible, I'll take a combined sigbet with you two on Angulo in a Cotto v. Angulo fight. El Perro eats Cotto up and spits him out at this stage of Cotto's career. Problem is Bruce Trampler and Bob Arum are too good at what they do to let that fight happen because the risk ain't worth the reward.
For that matter, I'd take Angulo over Chavez Jr. and Alvarez too.
Don't get me wrong Angulo ain't the second coming, but he's a tough dude. To be clear, I'd favor Kirkland, Dzinziruk, Martinez, and Lara over Angulo.
i at least accept and IMO Cotto would school Angulo worse than Cintron did, as for the other part IMO Angulo beats Kirkland, he has the punch that Kirkland has always been open to, the straight right and a pretty damn good one at that, that's why i always felt Forrest would have whooped Kirkland but yea Dzinziruk and Martinez make Angulo look like a cab driver
Quintana certainly has the skills... but not the punch. Also, I'm not sure what his mentality is at this point. I saw him on TV the other day, and he sounds like he's getting ready to wrap up his career. With that kind of mentality, it would be an uphill climb against a brawler like Angulo.
Saw some comments in the thread about JCC Jr.'s chances. Again, I'd L-O-O-O-O-V-V-V-V-E-E-E-E nothing more than seeing JCC Jr. in against a live body.... so he can get his coddled ass kicked all the way back to his papa's house.
Not only is JC Jr. bigger than Angulo (JC has fought at higher weight classes) his hands are faster, perhaps more powerful, and he's better skilled as a boxer.
Quintana COULD pull off this upset, but he's trending towards not pulling it off. The Quintana that beat Paul Williams would completely school Angulo.
Angulo is a less dynamic version of Fernando Vargas.
I'm not doing a sig bet on this fight because I think Quintana is past it and although he may have a little success vs Angulo but his stamina and chin will let him down.
