Default Is 154 the weakest division in boxing

With Oscar gone, Mosley and Vargas shot, Winky moving up, and Mayorga pretty much done who is the next star of this division. At this point I believe the winner of Quartey Vs Forrest will be the next major champ of this division. In my opinion I believe Quartey will be victorious even though he is far beyond his prime and so is Vernon. But the division is that wide open.

If PBF does not give Margarito a shot then Tony should move up, he would easily be the champ at 154.

The boy can't even beat Daniel Santos who was one of boxing's weakest Champions. I agree with the first poster, Ike Quartey can clean up this division.

Kassim Ouma is pretty slick, though not much of a puncher. The winner of Karmazin Spinks will probably have a chance at becoming undisputed too.

Floyd may move up soon, Joel Julio will fill into the weight over the next year or so, and hopefully he will have gained some experivence by then.

A bit weak at present, but I see this division getting hotting in 2007

True statement but people have been hyping Tony so much after the Cintron KO. It does not look like he is going to get his shot at PBF, so this is the most ideal for him because the other boxers in the division are just as weak as Santos. But I like Quartey

I also thought Julio would be the future, but his last fight almost has me jumping off the bandwagon. Floyd is small at 147 so I don't see him moving to 154, Spinks does not scare anybody but we will see

154's not that bad, look at Jr. Fly apart from Brian Viloria it's a wasteland. 154 has some good fights Mosley/Vargas 2, Forrest/ Quartey, Karmazin/Spinks. Also has good fighters like DLH, Ouma, Jose Rivera & Alex Garcia. How many top guys do you want in a division

im not so sure that fernando is all that shot yet (i'll know for sure by the end of next week )

i also think that karmazin shouldnt be taken lightly (based on his destruction of ouma)
and i also feel that ouma shouldnt be counted out yet

so to answer your question, no.......... i think 154 is pretty solid and is only to get better

Kassim Ouma Cory Spinks Roman Karmazin, Daniel Santos, some peopl eayt 160 that could come down to 147 and vice versa you have Vargas too, Vernon Forrest, Ike Quartey and some prospect like Paul Williams who can fight up there Andre Dirrel, Anthony Dirrel and Berto all probably going to grow into that frame. I seems that 154 is about to be one of the premiere divisions in boxing in the coming years.

Is Sergio Mora in this division? I was hoping that he could create some excitement in this division, needs to train on strength to add power to his punches. Same goes with Ouma.

Mora could probably make 154 if he wanted to.

Yep. I think it is one of the best divisions in all of boxing. Mayorga ain't done yet so don't count him out till he offically retires, he can still be a player at 154. I mean ya got Forrest, Quartey, Ouma, Rivera just arrived beating Garcia who has tons of heart, Oscar is at 154, Vargas is still around, Mosley too if only for one fight. So regardless of your theories on their future, as of now you got: Oscar, Mayorga, Vargas, Quartey, Ouma, Karmizin, Spinks , Rivera, and Garcia. Doesnt look weak to me at all.

I find LMW quite good. LHW is weak IMO.
