They are incredibly smart. You have to make sure the wind is right and your call has to be right on or you will never see them. Bastards have killed multiple pets of mine and I never pass up the chance to put one down. The irony is that the coyote was largely contained to a small portion of N. America by wolves until the wolf population was decimated.

I'll keep my eye out for falling objects though.

No there are no wolves where I live. I guess I might take one given the opportunity. I don't have a personal beef with wolves the way I do with coyotes though. The wolf population in this country was decimated by hunters from coast to coast. They were reintroduced in many areas in the northwest years ago and have made a roaring comeback to the point of being removed from the endangered species list and in some states are legal to hunt during certain dates. Environmentalist have gone ape shit over the hunting of them even though they have no natural predators and do kill rancher's animals. So in some states the hunting season has been closed. Instead of people legally killing them so the state can track the amount and adjust accordingly now ranchers kill them and bury them and it skews the numbers. Some wolves end up resembling something from Underworld. Check this out.

That looks like Siberian/Alaskan Canis lupus. They can weigh up to 200 lbs.
