Very interesting fight now. Syllakh is very good but I do get the sense he could get dropped at some point here.

Despaigne got back in it a bit....Syllakh has a sharp sneak righthand. Impressed with his mobility

I think Syllakh actually has a style that would be difficult for Tavoris Cloud....difficult but not impossible for Cloud.

Despaigne doesn't need McGirt that's all I know, I have never seen Buddy help anyone that wasn't a brawler trying to learn to box. Despaigne needs maybe somebody like Ronnie Shields or Freddy Roach....I mean that's without just going the straight Kevin Rooney route. If he's going to be a pressure fighter he needs a pressure fighter trainer. Oddly enough Fritz Sdunek wouldn't be horrible for him.

I didn't realize Despaigne was 31. He's got a marginal future because of that.

I'd like to see Sillakh's chin really tested. He had kind of an odd reaction to getting hit a few times. And like Teddy said he was stopped several times in the amateurs. He's very talented though.

I just never trust Cuban boxers as professionals there have been so many horrible ones that were supposed to be "the next big thing"

Syllakh probably has a dodgy chin (based on my stereotype of European fighters) and therefore he needs to focus on his defense and of course his jab.

The goods. Syllakh is good frame for light heavyweight. He needs to sit down a little bit more on some of his punches. I think he beats most of the boxers at 175.

I think Syllakh takes Pascal pretty easily, never been impressed by the guy....a fight vs Dawson would be tough for him. Cloud or Johnson would be a tough style match. I wouldn't bother with Hopkins.

He looks so lean even at lt Hvy? Hope they are smart with him vs bullish pressure guys. He looks like a chess player. Fast stinging shots in combination but not huge one punch stopper. Vs wrong guy who puts them together and losses respect for him could see him roughed up on ropes,corners...forced into exchanges.

Siliakh looked really impressive last night, great counter puncher and all around boxer. Good power as well.

Fuck the Cuban, he had the typical arrogant Cuban amatuer star attitude and got spanked for it. Once you see Buddy McGirt in there ya know the fighter is cursed lol

I have to say though, I had not heard of either fighter til last night, and so even after such a nice win, I cannot say Silakh is up there with Hopkins, Pascal, Dawson or Cloud. Not yet.

Our UK ESPN do not seem to be showing the repeat of this!
