If you think you can......you can, if you think you can't .......you're right!
At this point I think Porter pretty comfortably. Porter is not really that small of a guy he is just short. So to make up for it in the long run he worked his way down to welter. He fought at 165 most of his amateur career. He can handle the sheer size of the bigger guys its just the height problem he would have at middleweight and Alvarez does not have that height factor. I'm not going to be too critical on Alvarez because he is only 20 but I think we all see some glaring flaws at this point.

Thought Porter had gone down to Welterweight. We had him on the radio show and he said the longer term plan was to work his way down to that. Maybe he changed his mind, gotta check that one....

A slaughter for Canelo. Porter is mostly flash and not much substance. He wastes way too much ebergy jumping up and down like a yo yo.

almost everybody is saying Margarito is already toast. Why not him Tony and Saul both walk in 165 lbs at fight night.

Porter has always been in the 154lbs class not just as amateur but for pretty much his entire professional career. He just decided light welter has more attention and it's where the money is besides that there is the fact he can qualify for the class so why not fight there same as Margarito and others like Paul Williams have done. It all makes sense because they all feel they can gain a size advantage. Porter could handle Alvarez at 154lbs because he is faster has a big punch for the weight and his skills are more refined. Size is not an issue for Porter. He's actually taken out bigger guys. It's a good match-up at this point for both fighter's careers. GBP would think this is a good test for Alvarez and WBC could easily vote Porter in for a sanctioned fight.
