I don't disagree with Dzinziruk being a tough opponent - I disagree with your criticisms of Martinez. However, Dzinziruk being tough is more the reason to give Martinez credit for taking the fight. I'll go farther than you - Dzinziruk is the best fighter at 154. There I said it. He's better than Cotto, Williams, Angulo, and Cintron. So, again, credit to Martinez for taking this fight. Plus, it has the potential to look bad on tv because Dzinziruk slows things down with that potent jab. So, not only is there potential for Martinez to lose because Dzinziruk is that good, but even if he wins, he may look bad doing it. So, once more, credit again to Martinez.
Don't forget, Williams was a top ten p4p fighter when he fought Martinez. It's easy to say he had bad defense but he annhilated Winky Wright, beat Verno Phillips, and beat Antonio Margarito when Antonio Margarito was looking very, very tough.
Oh and speaking of being overrated. How about Dimitry Pirog? His KO of Danny Jacobs was phenomenal, but what else has he ever done? What did he do with his new found fame? He's languishing in obscurity in Russia fighting nobody's.
Lemiuex is taking on Rubio - that is what you do as a prospect working your way up.
